About Me

I am Sarah Cheruiyot married with 4 children. I was born in Kericho county where I schooled in the same place. Life in my childhood was so interesting, in my county the main cash crop is tea. Thus our main activity was plucking tea from one household to another as a team of about 20 age mates. At times this could bring conflict making one even to be absent from school. It took the hand of the community elder to end up this saga because education had become a secondary need.
At times I flash back and thank them for the way they brought us back to class.
As I proceeded to Secondary school I managed to get a good grade and I proceeded to college of Accountancy.

My Business

After I completed my course, getting a job was not easy and therefore I got married to start my own life. Demands in the house became too much for me and I resorted to start a small business of rearing indigenous poultry (Chicken). I chose the same because I knew I will not incur a lot of expenses from buying the feeds which are expensive. I managed to start with 10 hens . Marketing the eggs is not a big deal because people in my trading centre prefer the indigenous eggs unlike the exotic. They buy each egg at Ksh. 20. Each week I get about 2 crates (30 per tray) x 2 x 20=Ksh. 1200. The profits I get are used to process them food and to buy for them the alternative feeds. I also pay school fees for my two daughters who are in boarding school.

Loan Proposal

I intend to buy a good incubator to use it for the hatching. I will also use it to make some profits because hatching for someone it normally cost ksh. 60 per egg. this will enable me pay for the electricity expenses and other needs which would help me harvest good profits. The incubator I am looking forward for is the medium size one of about Ksh. 35,000. I have talked with my husband and he is willing to assist me with some amount of about Ksh. 15,000. Your loan will really assist me in this project I am planning to do. You will bear me witness that this business will make.
