About Me

i would like to introduce myself as Oward Chilufya and i am 20 year old young emerging farmer based in kitwe, zambia. I went to Twashuka primary school where i did my education and finished school. I was supposed to go college this year but school fees have been so high and with corona virus this year jobs have been very hard to find. So thats how i started my own business of agriculture, food is on demand. My late father was a farmer so i picked up some experience from him.

My Business

I am a young emerging farmer and i am a member of the Young Emerging Farmers in Zambia, what made me start farming was interest and also its a good business opportunity for a lot of people in my country. A long time ago farming was looked at like its for old people but things now have changed . A lot of young people have joined and am one of them, i grow vegetables ,tomatoes, onions, green paper, sugar canes and okra which i sell to the market. I have cost only in fertilisers and pesticides and also transport sometimes. The profits from my business i keep for college fees.

Loan Proposal

I thank my lenders for lending me. I want to apply for a loan to help me buy insecticides for my farm. I am a young emerging farmer and i have planted different things at a farm that am renting like tomatoes, vegetables, onions and sugar canes. Therefore i will use the money to buy insecticides so that my plants grow well and give me a good harvest. The profit i will get from this business i will keep some money for my college fees and i will also use part of the profit to buy food.

Income Source

when my business faces risks in the economy i can still find other option to make money and repay the loan. I have a class C drivers licence which i have used before to make money by operating a family car as a taxi. But again i feel that what i plant and sell is highly on demand. People will not survive without eating so they need food everyday. As a result i am able to sell everyday and make money and repay my loan.
