My name is George Mwangi Mathenge.I am a Kenyan citizen by birth and a resident of Thika Sub-County,Section 9 Village,Thika Town Constituency,Murang’a County,Kenya.I am 27 years old and a small scale businessman dealing with solar related products.I have one wife called Zipporah Mbithe and one girl (4 years 7 months old)by the name Monica.My daughter goes to school at the Marvelous Intermediate Kindergarten and she is in top class, God willing next year she will be joining class one(1) at the neighboring school.I come from a humble Christian foundation family and I am a Christian faith,worshiping at the Destiny's Worship Sanctuary, Church,here in Thika town. My Business

I am a small scale trader here at Section 9 village,Thika.I deal with selling of new car batteries (chloride-exide),solar panels,9"*12" and 15"*15" sizes, recharging and refilling of the 12 volts batteries. Also I sell packed 1 liter acids and lime water for the car and domestic solar batteries purposes from the Chloride Exide Company .I usually prefer this company because of the best quality and the long lasting life span of it’s products.
My business is licensed under the Thika Sub- County by-laws and regulations and also approved by the N.E.M.A (National Environmental Management Authority) regulations. I chose to start this business in my location, due to the challenges the villagers get when applying to get the electricity supply,since my village didn’t have the direct supply of electricity from the Kenya Power and Lighting Company,and the costly it is and it takes a centurylong for one to be connected with the electricity from the K.P.L.Company. which is the only sole supplier of electricity in Kenya. Since I started in the year 2011, I have made remarkable improvements in my family daily lives and also my parents lives too. The profit I get from the daily services from my loyal customers have maintained my family daily needs and also I have supported my parents since they are not employed and they are aged.I mostly buy the products in Nairobi depot,which is cheaper compared to when buying locally from the third party.
From the daily customers I attend, for different services I offer to them ,I usually makes a net profit of ksh.1,000 to ksh. 1,800 per busy day, which means that if you will fund my business I will buy all other solar products to be available for my customers which I don’t sell at the moment and they are on high demand and from the Nairobi Manufacturers and the direct solar importers.I am requesting a loan from the Zidisha Organization to buy more cheaper solar panels,solar rechargeable bulbs ,add more new chloride exide batteries for reselling at a retail prices and also buy another 12 volts battery recharging machine direct from the importers so as to satisfy my customers needs by selling the commodities at a relatively prices and to serve more customers at a given shorter time possible.

Loan Proposal

Thank you zidisha team for consideration to support my business.I am requesting a loan from the Zidisha Organization to buy more cheaper solar panels,solar rechargeable bulbs ,add more new chloride-exide batteries for reselling at a relatively prices to the people in the community and also add another 12 volts battery recharging machine direct from the importers so as to offer services & satisfy my customers needs by offering & selling the panels at a relatively prices,eradicate darkness amongst the less fortunate people and to serve more customers at a given shorter time possible by recharging their solar batteries.In about a year or so i will have enlightened the whole city with these cheap solar lighting to more customers who for now they live in darkness due to the unavailability of cheaper solar panels.I am targeting the big number of clients once i get the loan. i will have delivered these crucial alternative energy source for the domestic power use.Thank you and welcome to support my loan.
