About Me

My name is Antony Kamau,I reside in Kitale town, Central division, municipality location, Trans Nzoia County in rift valley region. I was brought up in Kericho County in afamily of eight children, four boys, and four girls. We moved from kericho in 1992 after tribal clashes and relocated to kitale, being the first born in the family has had its challenges including sacrificing to join a day school in order to allow my younger siblings to also join school. Although I passed through hardship, I was able to complete my high school education through government bursaries. I later joined Kitale polytechnic where I did my diploma coarse in Information technology (IT).
I was employed in a company after graduating from college. While still working I started a small computer shop from my savings to increase my earnings. I later expanded the business and opened a cyber café .I had one employee but later I resigned and joined him hence we work together in the cyber.I chose this business because it is my field of specialization and the experience I had gained from the company gave me an upper hand. I enjoy doing this job because I wanted to be financially independent.
During my free time I love swimming, travelling,socializing,reading,watching and volunteering.

My Business

I started the cyber café in 2010 in the kitale CBD .I offer internet services, typesetting, printing,photocopying,sales of computers and computer accessories. The fact that I am specialized in this field I serve my customers to their satisfaction and offer quality services to my clients therefore there is high demand of my services. My cyber café is located next to a university hence I have many students who come for typing ,photocopying and internet services. I use the income from my business to pay rent, electricity bill and paying school fees for my younger siblings. Initially I had challenges due to power failure but I have acquired a small generator that enables me do business even when the power is out.My aim is to open a branch at a nearby shopping centre.

Loan Proposal

When i am granted the loan i will purchase photocopy papers,a big stapler for tape binding and a flash disk.Having this items my profits will increase since we are approaching school half term and this period in time i have a lot of photocopies.
My estimated budget ie:
Photocopy papers = 380 x 5 = 1900
Stapler = 1000/=
