About Me

I am called Susan Wangari. I am from Muranga County in a village called Naru which is within Central Kenya. I was born in a family of seven people, one boy and six girls. I am the fifth born. I went to a local primary school called Mugesha Primary School and later went to Nginda Girls High School. After finishing the school, I started helping my parent who were doing farming. I later moved to Mombasa where I got married. I have two children who are both girls. They help me in my business when the schools are closed and they enjoy so much working with me. In Mombasa, I started an M-Pesa business and a transport business, both of which are doing well.

My Business

I do a transport business and the M-Pesa business which are doing well here in Mombasa. I chose these kinds of businesses because of the vacuum that I had seen in this sector. In the M-Pesa, I make a profit of about 200 USD when the business is working well. This business is doing well because the banking sector is changing and everyone is using the mobile money. In the transport business, I make about 300 USD. I have three small vehicles which I use for taxi and also for self drives. This business is doing well because of being in Mombasa, a coastal city where we get many tourists who want to be moved from different places. These monies I use in investing back into the businesses and paying the school fees for my children.
