About Me

I am Elizabeth Nsoh. I had my basic education at Berekum Demonstration Primary and Junior High School at Berekum. I furthered my education at Berekum Senior High from 2010 to 2013. I am 22 years old.

I had an admission to pursue nursing in the year 2014, but I could not enroll due the high cost of tertiary education in Ghana, as my late father who would take care of me as a teacher by profession died when I was in my second year of senior high school. However, nursing is my dream profession and I am determined to see that dream come to light. As a result, I work as a hairdresser so that I can save to pursue my nursing degree or, better still, a diploma in nursing. While in school, I used to work with my sister, who is a hairdresser, during vacation and that's how I learnt my hairdressing.

To succeed in business requires a balance of many skills. Business school gives you the education that you need if you want to succeed in building a successful salon business with all the challenges that entails. First you must recognise that the skills that made you a successful hairdresser have little or nothing to do with the skills required to build and manage a business.

The day I opened the business, my job description changed dramatically to include the responsibility for marketing, training, financial control, stock control, budgeting, recruitment, motivating, and leading a team, and that's just my start.

Ghana is land of peace with a populace of mixed tribes and cultures, and it is also known for its hospitability worldwide.

My hobbies are reading novels, helping people, music, and watching football and movies.

My Business

I make all kinds of hairstyles in my community and, at times, work from the house since I have my regular customers. My business is so profitable because I work on my customers well and they appreciate it: I keep on adding more customers each day. I am perfect in my work and have got experience.

My success now is not dependent on doing all the work, but rather how well I can get other people to do the work. That's what I do: I grow people into a team that represents my brand! That can be exciting and rewarding, but it can also be challenging and frustrating. Business school is about understanding and refining that process by developing skills as a leader and manager. That is all I do. A happier, more loyal team for me means a better profit margin, working fewer hours, and having more holiday, to be more focused, and organized, and to have less stress, more growth and general success.

My services are useful or in demand for the following reasons:
- Women are very particular about their hair because it makes them attractive, sexy and confident.
- Hairdressing is the kind of job that is not limited by any seasonal changes. It's always at peak.

My shop is between two tertiary schools and these are classes of women who always want to look good. They are always trying new hairstyles to see how good it looks on them and how attractive they are. Women always want to look good and classy and that means making more money.

My business booms alright, but as a beginner I faced some challenges. However, I have carved a niche for myself as a good hairstylist, hence the demand for my service is so high.

I will use some of profits to pay light and water bills, reinvest some back into the business, and save most towards my education.

I need to expand my shop so I can have a reception room for my waiting customers to be attended to. My typical cost is $300 overhead cost, about $100 for the water and light bill, $50 for transportation, and other charges totaling $20. My revenue is about $1,000 a month, so my net profit is about $500 a month, $200 of which is reinvested into the business with $300 saved towards my nursing degree.

I am also challenged with hair drier machine. I currently have one and that makes me not able to attend to customers as early as possible. I am therefore pleading to the Zidisha team to come with some loans so I can work and save towards my education.

REPAYMENT
I will be able to pay back my loan from the profits I make everyday from work.

Loan Proposal

Dear lenders,
Thank you very much for the first loan. I Underestimated the power of loan until I received this loan from you and the impact it had in my life and business is marvelous. I am therefore pleading to you to come to my aid once again.
This loan when honoured will be used to buy additional standing hair dryer as my customer based has increased and get me assorted materials that I lack in my beauty salon. These are nail art accessories, combs, and hair food chemicals.
Standing hair dryer =$133
Nail art and accessories = $40
Combs=$14
Total=$187
This would increase my profit by 40% and I will be able to save towards my school so that I can give back to society, Good health.

This might sound ineresting but quite true,every woman has the notion that in order to have your husband or boyfriend always around you need to make sure your have the kind of hair do that attracts your man so he doesn't go out chasing another just because of a hair do.
Again, my shop is in between two tertiary schools and these are class of women who always want to look good. They are always trying new hair style to see how good it looks on them and how good,attractive and sexy they are.
I have carved a niche for myself as a good hair stylist and hence the demand for my service so high.
