About Me
My name is Barbara Insombo and am 28 years of old. I come from a humble ground from the family of 4 girls and 3 boys. I live in the city of Lusaka which is the capital city of Zambia. I started my primary school course at Emmasdale primary school for 7 years. Later after completing my primary course with a distinction, I was selected to grade 8 at Kabulonga girls secondary school where I completed my secondary course. Two years later, I enrolled to Eden University and studied a Diploma program in food and nutrition. After completion and graduated, I was offered a job at Taj Pamodzi Hotel were a worked as a chef preparing food and serving customers and I gained vast experience in the food industry. Because my ambition and hard work I did open up my own restaurant in central business of town. Having my own business was one of the greatest thing that happened to me because I got exposed to other business opportunities. My vision is to expand the business and empower my children and expose them to entrepreneurship business. Most importantly I want them to get better education and go the universities to study hard, I want my children to become medical doctors, engineers and accountants.
My Business
Am a business lady and I own a restaurant business which is my source of livelihood. I sale food staffs at my restaurant such chicken and chips, potatoes chip, sausage and chips, fish with nshima, meat pies, egg rolls, meat balls and many more when required by my customers. My restaurant is located in the central business and the food at the restaurant are very much useful because workers around the central business come to buy and eat food there and hence demand is very high. I choose this business because it is highly profitable and these profits help me to pay school fees for the children, reinvestment to ensure the business is growing steadily, pay rentals and also for home by improving the living standards of the family.
I have invested ZMW 15,000 and per day my profits ranges from ZMW 2500 to ZMW 3500.
Project Proposal
Currently there is demand at my restaurant shop, the funds that am raising I want to buy the following food staffs which moving and selling fast; 10 bags of potatoes, fish, 20kg of smoked sausages, 15 chickens, 20 kg beef and 10 trays of eggs, altogether these good will cost me ZMW 5250.00, by so doing customers will be very much satisfied and I will make profit. Per week I will be expecting at least ZMW 2700.00 and this will be a plus to business because this year I want to boost and grow the business to another level. Thank you for support in anticipation.
