About Me

My name is Marième Gueye Diagne, and I was born in 1986 in Dakar. I am divorced, and I have a two-year-old daughter. I am the delegate for the neighborhood of Unit 17 in the Parcelles Assainies. I am a retailer by trade. I studied up to the 3rd class and afterward I did training in midwifery, and I’ve had my midwife’s diploma for three years. In the absence of work I turned to commerce a year ago. I spent all of my childhood in Unit 17 of the Parcelles Assainies, and I lived a short time in Thiès in the home of my older sister, then came to live with my husband. It is there that I did training in midwifery and was married, then divorced. Currently I live in the family home in Unit 17 of the Parcelles Assainies. My mother died 15 years ago. My father and another spouse, who is my aunt, we all live together. I have three brothers and one sister. My parents are originally from ST LOUIS. One of my brothers is a teacher in Dakar, the other brother is in THIES, and the third brother, the oldest in the family, lives in Saint Louis.

My Business

After my divorce, I turned to commerce in order to take care of my daughter. It’s for this reason that I am a retailer with a small sum as rolling funds. I sell shoes, clothing, personal effects and perfume. I sell at Unit 17 of the Parcelles Assainies, next to the market, and I go from home to home to present my products to the neighborhood. I go to Petersen, the hangout for the Chinese retailers in order to buy merchandise less expensively and resell it. At first I began with 50,000 FCFA, and with this sum I make some profits by selling the products from this purchase, and in a year I had arranged it so that I had rolling funds of 200,000 FCFA. I hope to request this loan in order to increase the number of products I’m selling. I sell on average 20,000 FCFA per day, and each week I go to Petersen to renew my stock. With the profits generated from these sales I take care of my daughter and my own needs.

Loan Proposal

I am going to use the loan to purchase merchandise that I will resell in my neighborhood. I am going to buy cosmetics, cloth, shoes, jewelry, and necklaces. I will resell through friends and acquaintances and I plan with the Zidisha loan to develop this activity and become a businesswoman.

Je m'appelle marième gueye diagne je suis née en 1986 à Dakar. Je suis divorcée et j'ai une fille de deux ans. Je suis la fille du délégué de quartier de l'unité 17 des Parcelles Assainies. Ma mère est décédée il y a 15 ans et mon père à une autre épouse qui est ma tante avec qui nous vivons ensemble. J'ai trois frères et une soeur. Mes parents sont originaire de de ST LOIUS. Un de mes frères est professeur à Dakar, l'autre frère est à THIES, et le troisième frère l'ainé de la famille vit à Saint Louis.

Je vais utilisé le pour acheter des marchandises que je revends dans mon quartier. Je vais acheter des produits consmétiques, des tissu, des chaussures, de bijoux et des colliers. Ce commerce se fera à travers mes amis et connaissance et avec le prêt zidisha je compte développer cette activité et devenir de par la suite une femme d'affaire.
