About Me

I am a wife and a mother of three children (two boys and a girl) and I am 47 years old. I attended school up until the last year of high school. I have also received vocational training in many fields like secretarial work, food preparation and sewing. I use sewing as a supplementary income for my children and their education (which is not free in Senegal). My eldest is in university, the second is in high school and the youngest is in elementary school. My husband has no formal employment and he will work a day here or there.
It is through Zidisha that I received my first training on a computer. Now, I get along well with computers. Zidisha helped me with my first loan but I have been able to do this second one so thank you for that. I have become independent today thanks to Zidisha, which allowed me to have three sewing machines. I can provide for the needs of my family. My sons presented their memory of Master 2 in environmental geography and their theme was Ecovillages.

My Business

With this loan, I plan to open my own clothing trade. The money will allow me to buy a sewing machine. I already produce clothes that are in high demand by the women in my area. Since I do not have an electric sewing machine, my production is much smaller than the demand, which has become very strong. The loan will also help me to buy a lot of equipment necessary for the manual processing of certain types of clothing. I"ll send you pictures of my manual product so you can judge for yourselves the quality of my work. With the loan that I am asking for from Zidisha, I can settle my own account with UN Development Program and open a sewing workshop.

Loan Proposal

I am requesting a third loan. I was about to buy a sewing machine that I really wanted. I would like to let you know of my projects to make my enterprise grow better because of your loans. I would like another sewing machine that would help a certain kind of sewing that is selling very good. If I get that sewing machine my enterprise would grow better.
Thank you kindly

About Me

My Business

In investissemnt I intend to do I"ll win a sum that will make me much more independent and I will have to use a third person. I can get more than 40 per day in addition dollards clothes that I make that will grow my sales as I have previously explained the sale of local rice is a new niche, and it is carrying. But I see that donors are a bit reluctant and yet so they claim really to help is the time to do it because behind me there are two tailors I pay if I manage to market the rice as it will take me another person besides the producer of rice and all the staff who will be behind him. If this time my request has not reached his goal I will continue my packages of clothes but I really wanted to be the first to do so in our city before everyone gets started I did not think that my loan would be rejected because I know it"s going to walk the sale of local rice throughout Senegal tends to only eat this rice is good for health. My former Maxemerica donors, and other Phansang shake you so I can reach my goal you like the challenge I too love the challenge. I wish the Americans good fete Thianksgiving. See you soon for other news.

Dear donors according to the calculations that I made I could pay off faster than I thought. The benefits can get a refund up to 80 dollars a month but I prefer not to declare 70 bamboozled me. I had made agreement with a trucker who was to carry the rice Dakar. But if am not going to derail all funded. it remains for me only two days in the Public Lending page. How to do. Or if I happen to run you reconduirez me

Hello to the lenders if you see that I have not put a picture of me in the shop is that the sale of rice is a project undertaken with a partner want and I know it can bring a lot since, Senegal rice is the main food of the Senegalese have eaten at lunch and dinner. I will not let the seam you helped me with funding to acquire sewing machines. I already have the place to shop but I have not put the stock of rice so I could not photograph me in a place that is not mine the sale of rice is a project that will diversify my activities and will grow my avoirdés that everything will be in place I photograph it must give me confidence. Soon I will write my story with Zidisha or he found me and brought me or it today. Looking at the pictures in my profile you"ll see. Thank you

I would prefer a bigger loan because, apart from sewing, I want to get into rice sales to push food self-sufficiency forward. There is valley rice that we want to promote. In Senegal, rice is grown in the region of Saint-Louis. Greetings to everyone - Thank you!

Hello everyone, and thank you very much. I can not thank you enough - since I've had the Zidisha loans my business is prospering. I can meet all my needs and those of my family. Especially at this time of Korité celebrations I have a big order, even though I am in Tambacounda. My tailor is in Dakar with the orders. I really thank you. Cheers to you all. God bless you

    Hi everyone,

My name is Miriam and I'm a Client Relationship Manager for Zidisha in Senegal. I had the pleasure of meeting with Mme Sarr over the weekend and I wanted to give an update on how she and her business are doing.

I had met Mme Sarr once just briefly at the SEM Fund office where she works, but when I arrived on Saturday she greater me as an old friend and took my arm to lead me to her house. Her house seemed to be overflowing with children - Mme Sarr lives with her own children and nieces and nephews, and her siblings and mother as well. A toddler was named after her, which is a great honor in Senegalese culture.

Mme Sarr's current loan has enabled her to further expand her tailoring business. As you may know, her previous loans with Zidisha allowed her to buy 2 sewing machines, and with this loan she bought a third sewing machine, a highly advanced model with which she can create more intricate designs. Unfortunately Mme Sarr works full time in the city, and she must take 3 different buses to get there, so she is only able to sew on the weekends. Because of this she gave 2 of her sewing machines to local tailors who use them and then give Mme Sarr a part of the profits. This way the machines are put to good use and Mme Sarr still benefits.

Mme Sarr is still sewing herself as well. She recently sent around 50 boubous, a style of dress, to Mali where a contact will sell them and send her back the money. She has been very successful doing this because her creations are in high demand. Mme Sarr also sews for clients and friends, though often she must makes clothes on credit as people do not always have the cash to pay.

Mme Sarr is an extremely warm and welcoming woman. After talking about her loan and her business, she invited me to eat with her and her family. We ate ceebujen, meaning rice and fish, the national dish of Senegal, while sitting on mats around one large bowl, which is the traditional manner of eating meals. After we drank ataayah, a popular type of tea, and discussed everything from youth unemployment to different aspects of Senegalese culture. I look forward to going back to visit again!
