I am the first born in a family of 5 kids.Born and raised in the outskirts of Nairobi.I went through education till O-levels.Did some computer packages then set out to look for simple jobs, since i had to give my siblings room for education. My goal has always been about independence and self reliance which i have achieved all along by working hard.
I once served as a boutique attendant and that is where i got the inspiration to have my own business. What motivates me in Kilifi is that whatever business you set,so long as you instill effort in it,it flourishes.
My seven year old son wants to become fashion model and artist, when he grows up.
During my free time,i read novels and inspiration books and sometimes i do research on various things online.
I deal with second hand clothes and cosmetics.Being in Kilifi exposes me to most students of Pwani university hence creating the demand for my goods.
I chose this kind of business because i love fashion and body care,Also this kind of merchandise is not as perishable as foodstuffs, hence minimizing losses.
I do pay monthly rent and wages to one employee.Sometimes i do go out for outside marketing and advertising, hence the need for an assistant who stays there full time.
The profit that i get from sales,i re-invest it back to that business, adding stock and sometimes introducing something new, like new fashion of clothes.Keeping up with the trend.
I will use my loan to buy bales of Kid's clothes, ahead of the IDD festivities.Apart from that, kids clothes are always on demand including infant wear which my clients are making daily inquiries about.
A bale of medium rummage at $87
A bale of light baby infant wear at $146
I already have $90 from my savings, which will be greatly boosted by the loan,to make the inventory possible.
The new stock will be of great attraction to the clients, therefore helping in the sale of the old stock as well. This will boost my turnover and will enable me to raise my worker's salary.I expect the profit margin to increase by at-least 20%.
