About Me

my names are Maurine Wafula,I am the third born among six children . I grew up with loving and caring parents and siblings . I went to st teresas girls seconday school and I am currently undertaking diploma in farm management.
I started my business after secondary education ,because my parents could not raise money to take me to college,I joined uzima youths group where we were thought of various entrepreneurship skills and income generation activities. I was a good leader and therefore chosen to head the agribusiness department of the youths, I choose to follow my dream in agriculture so that I could generate income to pay my college fees. I started small. I grew kale's in 1/4 of land and the kale's did well.I sold them and use the money to expand the farm and grow tomatoes. I now grow assorted horticulture and the business is fairing on well. I am thankful to MR Juma Alfred who mentored me and made me a successful farmer.
In our culture we have unique rites of passage and every male child has to be circumcised traditionally. The community only recognizes those who have undergone the rite of passage as men.
my hobbies include dancing, singing and social work. I take some time to help in social activities like cleaning the town, educating my peers and singing and training young farmers.

My Business

I grow and sale assorted horticultural crops in my piece of land . The crops are grown in open fields and I do irrigation to protect the crops against adverse weather.
The goods are important because of the large non farming population and the dense population in my target market.
I choose the business because I have passion in farming and also the business is easy to manage and highly profitable.
My monthly typical are between $100 -$150 and my monthly income is average $300-$400 per month depending on the season and availability of the products.
I spend my profits in paying for my diploma in agriculture , buying basic needs and reinvesting in the business.

Loan Proposal

Thank you lenders for the good heart and incredible kindness. I wish to request for a loan of $150 so that I can buy a knapsack sprayer that I would use to spray my crops with fertilizers and pesticides to help me improve the health of the crops and get better prices for the produce. Thank you dear lenders in advance for the loan,Be blessed.
