About Me

My name is Emmanuel Onyango. I am a graduate from Africa Nazarene University with. 1st Class honors in Bachelor of Commerce Human Resource Option. I am a born again christian living in Komarock Estate. Currently, i am persuing my MBA Strategic Management and Human Resource Management at Africa Nazarene University. I have 4 sisters whom I love very much. On weekends I love to play soccer with my friends. Some time ago I used to play for Gor Mahia but had to stop playing and concentrate on my studies. I started a cyber cafe to fill the unemployment gap as well as to earn a living and cater for my need and that of my family but I have recently changed my business to that of selling both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages on wholesale and retail basis. This has been the best decision that I have made as an entrepreneur since the business has experienced steadfast growth over a period of 10 months. The thought of developing a supply chain is what has been the driving force and motivation for doing the business.

My Business

My business goes by the name The Liquor Run Wines and Spirits. We deal with both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages in wholesale and retail basis. With in Komarock Estate and its environs. We have been able to acquire, develop and maintain a considerable amount of market share wishing Embakasi Constituency approximately 35% due to us adopting a low cost leader strategy where we sell quality and authentic goods at a low price therefore taking advantage of the economies of scale advantage. Overall we have faced stiff competition within the market since the beverage industry in Kenya is a highly competitive market. Our revenue streams average between 150 to 200 dollars daily with a 35% profit margin on total sales. This has helped us be able to inject retained earnings in terms of profit to the business. Our retail line has been the most lucrative due to less and administration and transpiration costs. Our fixed cost are rent, utilities which add up to 80 dollars. Our monthly profits range between 900 and 1500 dollars depending on other variables such as availability of products, inflation and taxation in terms of VAT. We would like to expand the wholesale part of the business which has been lacking due to minimal quantities of our current inventory. With the loan I want to improve on our inventory and buy medium and high range alcohol, wine and soft drinks costing a total of 600 dollars as well as install a point of sale system which will allow the business to function digitally as well as improve on our stocktaking system costing 300 dollars. The remaining 102 dollars will be used in setting up a CCTV system inside and outside the premises. This in turn will have a positive impact on the revenue streams with a projected increase of upto 50% of daily sales.

Loan Proposal

I would like to buy inventory for my business which will allow me to become a distributor as well as a retailer

Income Source

I have already installed a Point of Sale system which has allowed me to reduce waste and inefficiencies in my business. With that I am able to post more profits as well as save more.
