My name is David mwangi a fifth born in a family of six. i was born in 1978, started my early education at Matundura primary later joining Magumu high school finishing in 1996.I did not proceed with education due to lack of school fees. Am farmer since then, am married with three children 1 boy and 2 girls. the first born is just about to join form one, the rest are in lower classes .we earn a living by farming growing a variety of crops including potatoes, French peas and onion. i also rear livestock.
My Business
Am a farmer mostly concentrating in livestock specifically dairy farming, I have 1 dairy cow which produces 12kgs per day. We sell our milk to dairy men sacco at USD 0.35 per kg tabulating to an average of 100 dollars per month. In addition, I engage in farming of French peas which does very well in this area. i usually cultivate 1 acre of French peas. The average profit is USD200 dollars per3months,this is made possible by the good climate in kinangop which is favourable for various varieties of crops. This is due to adequate rainfall throughout the year.
Loan Proposal
Am kindly appealing to lenders to consider funding my project, I intend to use this fund in buying seeds and fertilizer for planting of fodder crops for my cows. Rain are still going on in our area, am intending to buy 2 bags of oat @USD 35per bag, and 30kgs of fertilizer at USD 1dollar per kg. This will help my cow have adequate feeds hence consistent milk production.
