About Me

My names are Mercy Mugure Kimani. I'm married and have 3 children. I was born in Kiambu district in the Kiambu county which was in the former Central province. This is about 50 miles from Nairobi.

I went for early education near my rural home, which is just a walking distance and this was so good as I did not get tired going to school, unlike my counterparts.

Later I went to a school in Nairobi, Uthiru Girls high school, and after my form 4 exams, I joined a college in Nairobi to do my study in Front Office & Housekeeping.

I got married in the year 2010 and relocated to my current township of Nakuru which is 130 miles south of Nairobi.

My Business

I have been practising horticulture with my 5th loan and am happy to let you know that it was a wise decision.

Farming is not only a passion that I have, but the challenges and the ability to oversee crops from seeds to maturity and finally selling them and earning brings lots of excitement.

The farming I was doing was overhead irrigation which has it's own shortcomings, but on the other hand the profits are big. Within the first 6 months, I had started realizing profits upto 80% more.

This is the reason I want to move to a more intesified Greenhouse farming which is more productive and harvest are bigger hence the projected income will definitely double in the next half year.

Loan Proposal

In my boutique and salon business described above, I have a space which I wanted to included a Mobile money transfer business known as MPesa in Kenya.

Mpesa is a mobile money services through phones where customers can deposit or withdraw money.

It has a good commission which is paid out promptly at the end of every month and an idea struck me because, my shop is located in a business centre which also happens to be a boarding place for public transport vehicles.

Alot of people have been asking me if I offer Mpesa services but I have not been able to have the capital to start.

It is my humble appeal that with lenders like you, this dream of having my own Mpesa will now be realised. I will start with a little float and continue slowly but surely and I am sure God will sustain my business.

The loan requirements are:-

1) Small phone...................................................$20
2) Painting Mpesa logo....................................$5
3) Float for Mpesa............................................$1600

With Mpesa and my other boutique and salon business, I am sure that my business will move to the next level. T

Thank you and I trust that you will kindly lend my project.

Mercy Mugure.

Mugure has been trying to reschedule her weekly instalments to her favourable amount but the system can't allow, which I advised her to contact zidisha through her Help page for more help.

Hallo lenders, I have been trying to adjust my payment amount but the least you have the amount I can't be able to repay on a weekly basis. For now, am financially unstable and I don't want to commit myself to something which Am very much aware for now I cannot make it. Please try to reduce to the least amount which I can be able to commit myself. Thank you

I called Mercy and she told me that she will adjust the loan installments and make the repayment. Although she disconnected the call before getting all the information from her.

Hi Mercy, it must certainly be tough for you now but if you can restructure your loan, I think you should go for it. I wouldn't want to see your repayment rate falling down to a level where people will have doubts loaning you money. You're brave and I'm hopeful and convinced you'll see thru these times.. All the best!!

Hi Ekim, thanks for the encouragement, I have already restructured my payment plan and I hope that soon my business will pick up in the next two months or so. God bless you.
