My name is Joseph Owuor. I come from Kenya in East Africa, in a town called Nakuru.
I went to Flamingo Primary School, next to the Lake Nakuru National Park, and later went to Menengai High School for my O-Levels. I grew up in Nakuru's Kivumbini Estate and later RaceCourse before i left for college in Nairobi.
I studied electrical engineering at the Kenya Power Training School in Ruaraka (Nairobi), worked for Kenya Power as an over-head linesman, and later a designer in the construction division.
I left Kenya Power after the 2008 post-election violence which badly affected me since i was working in an area which was perceived not friendly to the Presidential candidate from my tribe. It was a bad story.
I ventured into the events management and public relations industry. My firm is called Double O Media.
My business includes executing marketing and corporate events for companies and other institutions; i also handle corporate communications and media campaigns for individuals and other institutions; and artist management services for musicians and bands.
My daily job includes creating initiative/ project proposals for specific clients. it involves a lot of printing works e.g posters, fliers and banners, online communications and media engagements.
I want to purchase an offset printer to help me do mass printing at a cheaper cost, and also to offer the same services to clients at a profit.
It is my desire to get this initial loan and repay it fast so that i can qualify to get the loan that would purchase for me this printer.
A good one will cost Kenya Shillings 500 000/= ($ 5 000)
This machine will allow me do mass printing for my events, and also reduce the cost of doing related services for my clients and partners. It will also enable me employ atleast two more people on a full-time basis since the machine can handle alot of work-load with good marketing and planning.
The new machine will reduce my printing expenses by around 70% and therefore allow me to make more profit, and clear my loan dues in the shortest time possible.
