About Me

I am Oppong Tabi Lord a native of Offinso. I am 24 years old. I am the third born in the family of four, two maless and two female. I was born by parents Madam Beatrice Pokuaa (mother) and Mr Oppong Manu (Father) in the year 21st December, 1992 at Offinso in village called Old Town. My father is a motor mechanic and mother, a trader. I am currently staying at Atimatim. I went to Presbyterian Junior Secondary School and completed in the year 2009. I was the school boy’s prefect for that period. I had aggregate Six (6) that guaranteed me to Arm Forces Secondary school, one of the popularly known schools in the country. I read business course at the School. I was one of the brilliant students within that period. I completed in the year 2013. I passed out my exams successfully. During the time of my secondary education, life was very rough and stubborn to my parents. Supporting my education became a problem, so sometimes at the weekends I have to go and look for a car so that I will be the mate to the driver in other to get money for the coming week. I did this throughout even on every vacation; I have to, in other to be able to gather money for the next term. Thank God I was able to complete and passed out once. After Senior High School, I stood home circulating application letters around looking for employment as a Teacher but didn’t get. The whole thing turned to a frustration, hmmm. I was one time called by my Pastor who is a cold store manager by name Pastor Charles Ntiamoah and he spoke of his intention to help me. He employed me as an accountant since I had studied accounting in the program I did at the Senior Secondary level. I woke up every 3:30am and by 4:00am I have to be there to attend to the customers that are coming from far away to buy fish so they get back early. The only thing that is unique at the place I stay is that, Atimatim is next to Kwapra and there is very popular hospital i.e Wisdom Specialist Hospital because this hospital is serving Kwapra including Atimatim. Early this year I decided to make extension in my life by establishing MTN Mobile Money Transfer business. I started operating it in January this year and it’s been moving but just of lack of enough capital loading my Wallet for huge transfers for profits. Because of this had become an obstacle to progress faster in this business. I love playing football. Thank God once again for this far.

My Business

I render money transfer service and MTN mobile money merchant. In these days word that the carriage of plenty money around is tedious and scary and due technology MTN is been able to device a system which can contain all your money along. Also banking system is been limited and difficult moving from one bank to the other, this system has made it easy to transfer money around any time anywhere you found yourself. Therefore this has made people to involve and circulate their money’s through this medium. One can send money without encountering issues such as arm robbers attack, theft, misplacement etc. Money transfer has become easy irrespective of location constraint, time factor and transportation factor etc. The system involves cashing out and cashing in. Cashing out is when a someone having money on his/her wallet wants to get a physical cash, he/she has to come to the agent, for the agent to withdraw the amount from his/her wallet to the agents wallet in other have a physical cash. Cashing in involves a person sending money to another person registered or unregistered through the Merchant. Thus, the merchant receiving physical cash from the person and load another person wallet with the amount i.e. mobile money user. Also Aitel Network, Tigo Network, Vodafone Network mobile money transfers are currently in the system. It is my vision to add these services when I have access to a huge capital in other get huge profits to improve my wellbeing and the future. I am the only merchant that is operating this business in this community currently.
The cost involves; the rent, the container I am staying in, light bills, mobile phone cost and when loading my wallet. My revenue includes;
1. When a person is sending money to a mobile money user or non-mobile user it attracts charges
2. When a person is withdrawing money from his wallet it attracts charges
