My name is Ekua Mensima. I am 40 years old with two strong children and a husband. I had only basic education within the community of Prampram in the Greater Accra Region.
I am the first of three children born to my parents. We are all old now and my parents are still alive. Growing up was tough for me as a woman and the first born. As a result, I was tasked to help my parents very early.
I am now a proud fish monger and that is what I have been doing since I was in my twenties.
I am a fish monger. Locally I am called MAAME Mensima the Fish seller.
Basically that is what our family is known for . We are known for selling quality fish at Dawenya where we have lived all our lives.
We sell fish straight from the sea and others in the form of a cold stored fish. We sell to individual customers and to food vendors and restaurants as well.
I am requesting for the loan support to help me acquire more iced fish into my Cold Store.
Currently there is a lot of fish and once I am able to store more, I can sell it when you get into the lean season which isn’t far away at all.
So the entire loan will help me to purchase two curtains of local fish which is mostly brought in by our local fishermen.
I will then be able to increase my sales and sustain my Business.
As a results of CoVID -19, many business faces risk a lot but the exception is that we in the food industry is a bit okay.
Over the years I have been able to save a little towards eventuality from my business. Hence if sales should slow down, I will tap into that and use a part to settle the loan in order to keep in good standing.
I also informed my Husband about it and he will help as well if I face any difficulty.
