I was brought up in Rift Valley Province, Transnzoia County, Waitaluk location and Kapkoi Sisal village. We are eight in our family, five boys and three girls. My father works as primary school teacher and my mother is a small-scale farmer in my village. Life in childhood was challenging because we had to walk a long distance to go to school, and my most memorable days were when we went to fish the whole day in the river Nzoia with other village boys. I hold a bachelor of arts degree in education and I teach in public school.
I come from a humble background, and sometimes my parents could not afford to pay our school fees on time. This forced us to stay home for days while other students were schooling. This challenge made me and my brothers work extra hard whenever we went back to school and we always excelled in our academics.
I started my cyber cafe business back in 2012, from my own savings and donations.
The uniqueness of my land is that we receive plenty of rainfall every year; our soil is fertile and we plant variety of crops in our land. My child wants to be a veterinary doctor because she loves animals a lot. My favorite hobby is playing football during my free time.
I own a cyber cafe in Moi's Bridge that offers education services, photocopying, typesetting, printing and report writing. This service is useful in the community because it trains both the elderly and young members to be computer literate and acquire relevant skills to be employed or employ themselves. I chose this business because it is profitable and there's a high demand for computer education, and I am passionate about computers.
I started the cyber cafe with a seed capital of $600 to buy computers and other equipment, and monthly expenses are $150 for employee salary and $30 for stationary. I obtain a net revenue of $100 per month. I reinvest the profit I get back into the business and pay school fees for my siblings and child.
Hello investors,
I hope you are doing fine. I take this opportunity to thank all investors for lending me a loan to buy a video decoder. The first loan has enabled me to win more business contracts. I have come back to you lenders to lend me $185 to add up to my saving so that I can buy a digital Photoshop printer. I will pay the loan on time from profits I get from my business and my salary.
God bless you all investors for lending me your money, and bless the Zidisha team for the good work they're doing.
Warm regards,
Tonny
