About Me

My Names are Idi Otieno. Am 45 Years Old, Married with 3 Children and taking care of 2 more children form my Late Brother. I am holder of Bachelor of Science Degree for Kenyatta University( Kenya) and Certificate in Marketing from Kenya Institute of Management ( Kenya). I also Hold a Diploma In IT from Jomo Kenyatta University-Kenya.. I live in Nairobi, Kenya.

I believe in Work, Honesty and Entrepreneurship.

My Business

Sometimes Back in the year 2000, i lost my Job form one the IT Companies and decided to Start an Own busisness since i had good knowledge in ICT and ICT Training. But, getting a premise to use for Training was a huge task. I walked the streets and met an old Man, Mr. Mwangi- I owe him a lot of gratitude. I told him that i wish toio Train computers but have no premise, i was lucky, he had a small 610 feet by 10 feet that he closed waiting for his son to finish his Degree in Law in India. He was just paying rent to keep the office. He told me that so long as i can pay half he office cost, i start to use it. That marked my Dream to share ICT skills with students. so i gt in, bought two used old computers, prepared posters and gave out on the streets, pinned posters and wah, i got my First Students. It such a good feeling when business get its first student. Good feeling. So i run the college , saved well and added more new computers, my strength was in Good Quality Training at affordable cost. Later i got two instructors and a Receptionist to help, and we expanded to a new office block when the Old Mans son came back to Kenya. To Date, we got 40 computers in a Good Training environment, Kenya is a very Challenging County in terms of Business as the government offer very little support or incentives to Small Businesses. But, we have kept the spirit. Currently, we are facing competition challengers and we need to increase our marketing effort, this is where if we get support form Zidish Tema, we would really appreciate. Thank you Zidish Team.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT.
We have taken it upon ourselves to Train the Deaf in ICT, especially in Computer Applications and Programming, at no fee to us. Currently we have 12 Deaf students on various ICT Training . It has not been easy for us as we don't understand sign language, but all our 3 staff have so far attended sign language just to share the skills with the less privileged of our society.

Loan Proposal

This would be my 4th Loan, the last three loans i was able to produce a lot of Marketing posters and fliers to use for marketing. I was able to pin up the posters and distribute the fliers in youth centers and church grounds. This borrow in 35 new students over a period of 2 months. We were able to expand the class and employee one more ICT tutor, hence providing employment opportunity to the youth as well. Now, we wish to buy two computers to use for the Training, i have saved ( USD220) and wish to top up with a Loan of USD 80 which i seek loan for. This would help provide students with one computer each as a few are sharing computers now. I wish to thank my lenders and all at Zidisha Team. Thank you.
