Naomi is a well known farmer who went to Kiamunyi Primary school in Kiambu and joined Hillside school still in Kiambu. After finishing mu secondary school i joined a Kiambu Agricultural where i studied farming and livestock keeping. I took this course for a period of three years. I have managed to establish my own farming scheme in my home that i engage in as a business and my source of living at the present state.
School was hardest nightmare and the most challenging thing i ever went through in my life. I schooled out of struggle and sacrifices. I was raised by single mother who was a business woman. She used to sell groceries and fish at the market. The little money that she made was used to support us in school and also bought food for us.
Therefore, from the knowledge that i got in school i wanted to put the knowledge into a living reality. I started a small livestock rearing farm in my home with the little knowledge that i acquired back in school. I was able to start the farming with one cow that produced 30 liters of milk each and everyday. I have been able to grow my farm slowly by slowly and at the moment i have three freshen cows. I engage in this as a business. I sell milk to the locals in kinoo. I want to open a shop where i can be selling the milk in the center of our town to the people living around.
I sell milk to the residence of Kinoo. I have established this business by my own from the scratch and see through it that it grows. At the moment i have three dairy cows that gives me milk in plenty. I sell milk to the locals in our village, take part of the milk to the Milk Sacco in Kinoo and since is still sufficient, i want to open a shop in town where i can be selling the supplers milk.
This services are on demand because many people take milk for breakfast and therefore since its a basic necessity many people buy the milk in the evening and very early in the morning so that they can prepare their breakfast in the morning. This makes my business to be useful and therefore on demand.
i incur almost 15 Us dollars cost on daily basis on transit. This involves transport the milk to the Sacco and also to the local people in Kinoo area. On the other hand, i also make profits.
I use the profits made on the daily basis to reinvest back into my business. I use the money to see through that my business grow and at the moment, i am planning to construct a shop in town, Kinoo where i can be selling the milk to the locals.
With a loan of 198 Us dollars, I will be able to lease a shop in town for 50 Us dollars, do the furnishing of the shop for 48 Us dollars, buy a bucket, a measuring can for 30 Us dollars and acquire a license for 70 Us dollars. This will help me run my business and continue growing my livestock farm.
I will greatly benefit from this because i will be making money and also my clients in town can access milk easily.
With this shop in town, i expect to increase my daily profits by almost 80 Us dollars on daily basis.
