My name is Hillary Aura born in Bungoma County in Western Province Kenya. I went to school at Lupida primary school. I faced challenges like witchcraft and black magic but God is good, all is in the past, I later transferred to town school (Mumias Complex Prim nary school where completed my primary education. I joined Sagero SDA secondary school in Uasin Gishu County and completed my O' level. After O' level I joined Masinde Muriro University College and pursued ICT and Networking and general computer science. I then joined Kisumu Polytechnic and did craftsman in Mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics Diploma. I later met a pastor in Kisumu who challenged me to start a business and she entrusted me with electronics. She offered me a space where i could repair clients gadgets like laptops, printers and phones. we then advanced to video recording studio. After a while I moved to Kisii to visit a friend. It is here that I realized that this town had an opportunity for me. I looked for a small space because of little capital. I started as a computer service where I could register as little as 43/- per day. To date my income has increased and I wish to expand even further. The money I'll receive from zidisha lenders will enable do the expansion.
Contently I sell movies as well as repairing of computers, laptops and general electronics. These services are in demand because computers break down every other day, laptop problems and power surge which occur over and over. Therefore, the demand for these services is very high and that is what motivates me the most. More people are acquiring these gadgets every day but the technical support is not there for most people and these is where I see the opportunity to utilize. In my my shop shop i Have one employee who assist me in doing the job and that is where I have a monthly expense. The other expense is the Rent which I pay monthly to the landlord. I use my profits to pay for my accommodation in Kisii town because this is not my home town, I also use it for increasing my stock to avoid delaying customers and the remaining amount as a saving.
Am glad for what is happening at Zidisha, this is a chance that has come to me through the noble idea of on micro-lending and will use the opportunity given by the zidisha team to make a bright future. After my first loan which enabled me move a step, I am again requesting for another loan to enable achieve more. I plan to use the loan to purchase a printer. I have one but it seams to be depreciating and the quality of the print out has gone down and its speed is also low making me loose when work is too much. given the loan from the zidisha lenders, I will spend Kshs.18,068.00 and top with kshs.4000.00 to purchase the coloured print which will enable me print photos and other related staff. I expect my income to increase once I acquire the new printer which will enable me repay the loan.
