About Me

My name is Abigail Kai Awuley. I come from Prampram in the greater Accra region of Ghana. I am married to Mr. Lawson Tetteh who is also from Prampram.

I come from a community that celebrates one of popular festivals in Ghana called Homowo. Homowo Festival celebration is in honor of our forefathers who fought for the land of Prampram. Homowo Festival simply means hunger festival, so during the festivities we cook and spread food through the town for our ancestors to eat and bless us with spirit of unity and development.

My Business

My business mainly is based on buying fish from fishermen and selling it to my customers. Currently, I go to the seashore every day to buy fish from fishermen and sell to my customers in the town. I sometimes preserve the fish and store it in a fridge in case the fishermen arrived late.

I choose this goods and service because it is one of the fastest moving businesses in my community and beyond. The challenges this business of mine face is when fishermen couldn't get enough catch when they go fishing. Business moves very well especially when it is harmattan or raining season.

Loan Proposal

Hi lenders would like to plead with you to assist me with a loan to purchase a deep freezer for storage of fish.

I will able to preserve and store more fish if am able to purchase this freezer and will also create jobs for the youth during week-ends

I will also use the income to reinvest into my business by buying more deep freezer for storage of fish.

I expect my business to high by 40percent in income generation as compare to time I use a fridge.

About Me

My name Abigail Kai Awuley, I come from Prampram in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. I am married to Mr lawson Tetteh also from Prampram.
I come from a community that celebrate one of popular festivals in Ghana called Homowo.

It begins with the sowing of millet by the traditional priests in May. After this, thirty-day ban on drumming is imposed on the land by the priests.

The festival is highlighted at varying times by different quarters of the Ga-dangme tribe.

Homowo recounts the migration of the Ga-dangmes and reveals their agricultural success in their new settlement. According to oral tradition, a severe famine broke out among the people during their migration to present day Accra. They were inspired by the famine to embark on massive food production exercises which eventually yielded them bumper harvest.

Their hunger ended and with great joy they "hooted at hunger" this is the meaning of the word HOMOWO.

My Business

My business is mainly the purchase of fresh fish at the shore for smoke preservation and resale. For this reason I have daily rendervous at the seashore to meet the fisherman when the land.

There are times, however when there is little catch of fish and and this makes business slow.
