About Me

I am Joseph Ogao Daniel, I was born in a fishing village of Nyamanga in the shores of lake victoria, Kenya. My parents were peasant farmers. I went through my early education through difficulties but eventally i managed to complete my primary education course and passed well.

Nyamanga is a fishing village and several people engaged in fishing related activities are living in this village. The major threat to socio-economic development in Nyamanga village is disease and extreme poverty. However, the local residents are mobilizing themselves and organizing into small group member-based groups to support their business and co-existence.

In my free time, I do involve in community development work like gabbion making to prevent floods, visit the sick and socialize with my peers.

My Business

I am involved in fishing though I still lease a fishing boat. I look forward into expanding my fishing business using ZIDISHA low interest loans. The fishing is a thriving industry here in western Kenya though the fish catch is dwindling due to poor methods of fishing. I want to purchase solar-powered lanterns and recomended fishing gears to support my business.

Loan Proposal

I am seeking a laon of KES 1,000 to enable me buy 1 solar-powered lantern to help in improving my fishing business. Solar - powered lanterns are new innovations that saves on fuel and increase on fish catch. With one new lantern added to my fishing equipments, I will be able to improve on my daily income and be able to repay the loan on time.
