About Me

I am married with two children, a 3 year old boy and a 8 year old girl.I was born in the Rift valley region of Kenya,in a remote place known as Kapenguria.I am the 3rd born of a family of 4 girls and 3 boys.We have the best parents who worked hard to feed and educate us and even teach us how to be independent.Growing up we all worked hard helping my parents to buy and sell clothing materials at various markets in the different towns West of Kenya. We never slept hungry but there have been challenges that i thought we would never bypass. My mother was sickly and barely made it at the end of every day due to her health challenges. But she strived to wake up every day and help us seek for money to finance our needs at home.I managed to go to school in Siritanyi primary school and graduated to join Cardinal Otunga girls high school.I didnt manage to attend college but i have my eyes set on it. I and my brothers and sisters learned how to buy and sell clothes at different markets and i have done so since i was a teenager.

My Business

I buy lesos (womens wrap around) and African women materials from different suppliers within and outside Bungoma town and resell them at different markets in Bungoma town,Webuye town and Kitale town.i also buy and sell bras and womens underwear.I usually spend about 3000kshs (30$) on buying womens lesos and materials and make a profit of 7$ on each bundle of purchase.UNderwear and womens bras fluctuate in price and i use an average of 30$ to 50 $ per load of purchase in a week, making a profit of around 15$ in sales every week.
In Western Kenya most women use wrap arounds as a custom and also buy bras from street vendors such as us.I pay for using open air stalls and usually pay about 1$ per market per day to the local council.

Loan Proposal

I will buy lesos (women wrap arounds) for 200kshs (2$) each,i will buy a whole roll having 20 of them.I will sell each of these at 230kshs (2.05$) making 5 US cents per lesso. I will buy 30 womens African design tops (also known as kitenge) which on average cost 100 kshs (1$) and resell at 130 (1.03 $) making 3 US cents per top. I will also start purchasing and bringing womens and childrens open shoes (for these i will add my savings of 135$) and buy a bundle of 200 mixed pairs which i can earn an average profit of 45$ weekly. I will return the proceeds into the business as the items i have mentioned usually sell of in a week.
