am the last born in a family of two me and my sister. i was born in kisii county but my parents moved to kakamega where i under went my primary education at kakamega primary school and later joined mukumu boys high school where my designing talent was natured and after my o' level i was enrolled in the mombasa polytechnic university college where i did diploma in graphic design and media studies but when i was a first year i lost both my mum and dad but God saw me through my college for i used to work as a graphic designer part time as i studied. on completion of my studies i came back to kakamega where i used to hire a friends computer to do design works till i was able to raise money to purchase my own computer and printer that am using now. since the kenyan government introduced devolution and the county system ,we have experienced growth in business and the circulation of cash is good and the community appreciates new ideas and quality. designing and art in general first started as a hobby little did i know it will be my source of income to support my wife and two kids . i have grown skill wise and believe that if supported finance wise i can do big things because the sky is not the limit when it comes to design , i am the limit.
My Business
am in the designing industry majorly print media . i do graphic design where by i design business logos for both small and big business, i do magazine designs t - shirt printing
and general office stationery. this service that i offer is very useful and in demand because every day new business are being opened and they need there identity like logos , they need to do advertisements which we design, they also need receipt books , invoices, letterheads, complementary slips which i do the design so in conclusion no business minus a designer because we always help you to communicate your business to your audience through design layouts. my business is located at the CBD and the business is able to carter for the operating Government revenue and other costs like the utility bills, rent and other daily expenditures, although the challenge as been the capital to expand the business because we are forced to borrow money from commercial banks which as high interest rates that's why when i had of zidisha i was so grateful, and excited about this opportunity, so please consider my application.
Loan Proposal
first but foremost, i would like to thank you the lenders who have been a great helping hand for me and my business at large more so for the loan that you guys raised to facilitate the buying of my A3 printer, even though i had some challenges here and there you demonstrated a lot of patience by standing by me till i finished repaying the loan. Once again i say a big thank you for my business as improved so much since the purchase of the printer.
This time round my proposal is all about giving the office a new outlook, as you can see from the picture that i have uploaded;
(a) the office has carton made shelves which i improvised to serve the purpose
(b) the office need to be repainted because the walls are dirt since the paint is worn
out.
(c) the office needs new furniture sine the one inside some the handles are broke
and too old to function since i bought them as a second user.
(d) the office also needs proper power wiring to be done so as to avoid short cir cute
of the machines.
In any business you will agree with me that image is everything and the way you present yourself and your business counts a lot and that s why the need to re brand
the office came in. I have had incidents where a client comes in for some work to be done and when they look around and see the office setup , the furniture the dung ling power cables they feel insecure to even pay deposits. Secondly the pricing of my services also depends on the image, if you look below par you are paid below par. Lastly when i see what my competitors have to offer am way below their standards hence i cant compete with them.
Security is a major worry for any business, is i get to make the new shelves some will have lockers of which important documents like business contract, rubber stamps will be safely kept under lock and key so that they do not find way to bad hands. lastly for proper wiring its really necessary for we have many incidents where we loose property due to electrical short cir cute due to poor wiring and installation of the power equipment.
I do believe if all this is implemented i would have taken my business image to the next level for IMAGE IS ALWAYS EVERYTHING in business.
