About Me

My name is Willy. Am a kenyan living in nakuru county langalanga estate. Having been brought up modestly in eldoret i decided to shift to nakuru so that i could depend on my own effort so i decided to set up a business in Nakuru town at langalanga estate where i live.i operate a boutique and because it has grown i would like to set up a new shop in the town entre where most of my clients work.To theis end i would like to ask for a loan to top up my savings so that i can be able to set up that shop in town. This boutique.business has been able to sustain me and my family and would therefore like to set that shop to increase my and access new clients and increase my incime level.

My Business

Since i secured a business space some few days ago and paid a deposit for the shop that i am intending to set up a new shop in the town centre. My monthly sale as regards this boutique business is ksh.30000 and from this i get my rent and food and also i save a little for re-stocking of this boutique.I would no like to loose this space because i will allow me to access my current clients and my expected clients. I am expecting an increase in the number of new clients as this new location is ideal for this kind of business. The location is prime because i can also engage with new clients. The greatest risk here is political risk but this is manageable because the elections are over now and i dont expect any violence that can hinder my business's growth.I project that with that loan advance to me my investment will be increased and so is my living standard.I will be very greatful for the loan because it will help increase my financial stability for i will surely get that new shop running.

Loan Proposal

I wish to take this opportunity once again to thank zidisha microfinance. I am requesting for another loan from zidisha having invested the previous loan very successfully and realized the marvelous great improvement in my business. I have anticipated great returns and sales from the previous loan that I invested and this is evident from my continuous on-time repayment of my loans. I intend to use this second loan from zidisha to buy more stock in the fast moving areas of my business such as ladies outfits and children's wear. I also wish to buy a computer for the business to ease in keeping my stock records, creditors and debtors as well as my sales returns. This will enable me to know the goods that sell the most and those that are mostly demanded and keep stock of the same. I know that this loan is going to raise my business to a higher level since I will be able to acquire the items I do not have within my business and are equally important and I will also be able to double my efforts on the kind of stocks that generate more profits for my business. Once again,I wish to thank all my lenders and my fellow borrowers for remaining faithful in zidisha and I wish the entire zidisha team alot of success. Thank you.

The speed of economic and technological changes means that the right path yesterday may not work today and could be a disaster by tomorrow.
    1. Integrity. Business has never faced the type of moral challenges that it faces in today’s economy. Everyone is struggling to be more successful, to keep their job, to earn a big bonus, or to compete effectively.
    2. Cash, Borrowing, and Resource Management. Cash is King! We’ve all heard this maxim and it is more true today than ever before Too often executives and small business owners fail to focus enough on cash flow generation.
    3. Increased selection and competition. It’s never been easier to start a business. Gone are the days when it took weeks, months, and a myriad of forms to get your business started.
    4. Marketing and Customer Loyalty. Along the same lines as increased selection and competition is the challenge to market to potential customers effectively and retain your existing customers. right marketing channels is key for businesses to be successful in the future.

Thank you so much for what you are doing for small business people in third world countries. We small business men and women face so many problems, to the extent that money only cannot solve them. Thanks to you Zidisha group for solving the finance issue, but other major issues are still facing the small time business people. It is my humble request that the organization goes a step further and introduces a program where, the business people are given some important tips or knowledge on how to go about solving the business issues they face.
Personally, I started a business three years ago, and I learnt the hard way about how to cope with problems arising from my small business. So, through this Zidisha network, people can exchange ideas on the best practices to succeed in business. True, people from different areas or countries face different business problems but also we might be facing the same problems. So with this network we can gain a lot of knowledge on business if we can share ideas together.
Some of my friends tend to think that, you only engage in a business because you do not have anything to do. They have not been oriented into the business world, hence they get or borrow money and there they go. Eventually some may succeed while many fall on the wayside. Here is where I want Zidisha to come in and fill this void of business ignorance.
At least, since I learnt the hard way, I always plan before I take a business loan. This is what I did, and I know it is the sure way to succeeding in business.

      Hi Willy,

I would be happy to help you if I can. I have operated various small businesses in the United States for 20 years. What sort of challenges do you face that you need help with?

Thank you my lenders for your kind helping hand.
But first of all , let me take this opportunity to thank you, personally , for being my lender . It takes one to have a Godly heart to assist a fellow human being. Many people , though having a lot of financial resources do not give a helping hand . So for me this is a golden opportunity of which I will give it all to make sure I achieve what you lenders have invested in.
I think it is also in order for me to thank the other two lenders, for their generous heart to me and I believe others have also benefited from you. May God add you more and bless you and your families.
About , what I had talked about , it is true , we can use the existing forums on Zidisha. But the only thing is most of them have general comments which touch on many issues. If we would have one dedicated forum ,to purely educate the small businessman or woman this would go along way in helping the small business person.
My lenders, you indicated that I could start my forum , and pursue on educating the small business people on the right business practices. I will definitely go this way, since I now know that I can create that kind of forum.
Last but not least , I believe , the volunteers can also be of help in imparting good business practices to the small business people in their area so that the money loaned does not go to waste. Some of our people are not computer literate , so they can not benefit fully from the online forums , so , the

My dear lenders, this is approximately one week since I got a loan from you. He purchased what I had indicated, that this, new room which is at a populated place and some stock for the shop.
    The following observation has been seen since then;
    - My shop is now running/working faster
    - more customers
With the above observation, am very happy to inform that, I have started receiving more customers since; I can display more things. Two, as I have more range of cloth stock, I am capturing a more range of customers.
My prayers are that I repay the loan as soon as possible, so that I can borrow again, to farther boost my business.
My business people in Nakuru have been trying to get funds from different agencies or banks, but their terms have been prohibitive both in terms of their conditions and services. Thank to Zidisha Organization, arrangements we are able to borrow within our means .Further the organization is not discriminatory, meaning that any one who qualifies he or she is given the loan.
I will be setting a side a small percentage of the profits , to repay the loan at the end of every month starting , this coming September 2013.Business planning is of essence , therefore , if you do not plan , you would be planning to fail. One thing the Zidisha organization has taught me is to plan. I just imagine managing the big pool of small business people in a number of countries is not a simple thing .It needs a lot of proper planning. I plan to follow this example, so that I can succeed in my business.
It is argued that, a business which starts small and grow gradually never fails. The same argument with the help from Zidisha Organization, I intend to fulfill it. Since I have started small but I will grow bigger
