My name is Sophia Lissah and I am a Ga Adangbe and I come from Ningo in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. I have one brother, a sister and 4 step sisters. I currently stay in the greater Accra Region of Ghana.
This family has been a lovely one because my mother was able to bring us the step siblings together to make a united family even though we had different fathers. This taught me the wonders unity could do in life. I am a chorister and I sing treble. My hobbies are singing, listening to music, and reading inspirational books. I am seamstress and a caterer by profession.
I really love sewing and am a seamstress by profession. I started sewing when I completed tertiary. I am also a caterer by profession. I cook, bake, and fry for occasions like weddings, birthday parties, family gatherings, and business meetings. I also sew kaba and sleet, straight dresses, skirts and tops, and jackets for ladies. I also sew for babies and men as well. I sew only shirts for men. I went to three different schools to learn how to sew all these clothes. I learnt how to sew for ladies and babies except jackets for ladies and then I went another school I learnt how to sew shirts for men and how to do knitting on a sewn dress, and at the third school I learnt how to sew jackets for ladies and hats as well. I also added the sewing of ice bags to my business just 3 years ago and it has been great. Sometimes a get contracts to sew school uniforms for school children and also contracts to sew these ice bags for some companies on their demand. These bags are for water, food, and conveying test tubes which contain blood samples.
I am currently having clients from almost all the regions of Ghana now. The demands of my clients have become high now. Some are requesting for dresses to travel with and some are also requesting for the ice bags for water bottles and food, to sell in their shops. I have also got some orders from some laboratories in clinics in Tema to sew some ice bags to store test tubes containing blood samples when being transferred from one clinic or laboratory to the other for a further test. I therefore about $150 more to purchase the materials I need to sew the bags. I know that by the wonderful help of the lenders I will be able to maintain this contract and supply the demand. When I am able to do so my profit margin will increase and I will be able to also maintain my clients. Thank you.
