About Me

My name is Ruth Wanjiru Ngugi born in Trans Nzoia County in Kenya in the year 1985.
I started school back in the year 1990 and finish my primary education in the year 1999 after passing the National Exam I got an opportunity to join secondary education in the year 2000.
My secondary education had a lot of challenges since my parents had to sell maize and beans to enable me complete my education .After completing my secondary education I had to stay at home and help my parents in the daily chores of maize planting since it was the only way of earning income.
The little income I earned from the sell of maize I saved it and opened my business which I started selling milk to my neighbours since milk is inadequate in my sorroundings.
In my own time I like reading and getting knowledge on how to improve my milk business.

My Business

In my small milk shop I sell milk and milk products.Milk in my area is of high demand since it is an semi arid area where milk is very inadequate.I chose this kind of business since my area is populated and hence the demand of the product is too high.In the sell of milk I get a profit of Kshs.2000 per day and this profit am using it to pay my children fees and reinvestment in growing my business.

Loan Proposal

The loan will enable me to move to the interior farmers to buy milk direct from farmers at a cheap price and at the same time to have plenty. This is the drought season and the product is scarce there fore I will not rely on brokers only.20 liters of milk will cost me 8dollars and I need 400litres per day. This will cost 160 dollars. The remaining amount will incur for transport.

The amount received will enable my business to move on well.It will enable me to have enough milk especially this time when the product is scarce. It will make me pay the product in advance before I collect.I thank my lenders for their efforts to consider young entrepreneurs like me and I assure my lenders that through their concern I'm making steps that will change my future.

I thank my lenders and zidisha team for their efforts to enable people to grow their business.I discussed with my milk suppliers who were lacking fertilizer to plant their crops and from my profit that I had made from the loan, I decided to purchase for them 10 bags of fertilizer that will be deducted from their milk supply every week. This will build trust among them and me.Due to heavy rainy season there is delay in milk supply so I needed fridge to preserve milk.It will save time to job and schools. It will cost 300 dollars.

First I thank my lenders for their support to enable poor people to move and improve their lives.I was able to buy food and milk to my neighbors and food during the festive season. This has enabled me to make more friends and customers because the rate of sales has increased compared to the previous.

I will use the loan to add stock to my dairy business to increase milk delivery to my esteemed customers.
By increasing the stock to my business it will incur more profit from the sells hence increase my income from the sells.
I will would like to take this opportunity to thank my lenders for the effort they are doing to finance this loan.May God bless you abundantly.
