About Me

I was born on 24th October 1991 as the firstborn in our family of four girls. In 1997, i joined Nyamgun Primary School for my primary Education up to standard seven. In 2005, i transferred to Obola Mixed Boarding And Day Primary School for my class eight, where i sat for my KCPE and passed. From there i joined Kit Mikayi Mixed Secondary School in 2006. I sat for my KCSE exams in2009 and passed. In 2011, i joined Nakuru Teachers College for P1 Certificate Course which takes two years. At some point it was challenging raising school fees but i managed to complete my course at the end of the two years but i couldn't receive my certificates since i left with arrears. That meant that i couldn't be employed anywhere without those certificates. I hung for at least six months without a job, then a neighbor offered to employ me to be selling for her clothing. I worked for her for one and a half years then she sent me packing because i requested her to increase my salary due to the economic crisis that was looming ahead. since i used to save little money, i opted to start my own business with the experience i had acquired. At first it was tricky because i had changed location but slowly it picked. I have been buying clothes small quantities but my dream is to buy them in bails. I like to travelling to different environments to get to know what i should know especially concerning my business.

My Business

I sell mitumba clothes both for children and adults. These kind of clothes are on demand because they are unique as in, it is rare to spot more than one person wearing the same type in terms of design, colour and material; they are long lasting;they are also affordable. I chose this kind of business because there was demand for these kind of clothing since they accommodate all classes of people in the society just as i have stated above-affordability. I use small amount of money to buy a lot of clothes and sell them at a reasonable price which caters even for the low in the society. The revenue i get in return is not badly off since at times the market responds extremely positively but other times it recedes to as low as no sales at all in a day. The profits i get i divide into up keeps, growing the business, partly support my child in school in terms of stationery and lunch programme.

Loan Proposal

I am selling my clothes just outside by the roadside which has been a challenge most especially during rainy season. The heavy rain for twenty fours make me let down my customers when they are in need. Sometimes my clothes are carried away by flowing water on the road so i end up losing. So i want to construct a sheltered structure for my clothes in that way they be safe and i will always be at my customers' service. This will cost me KES 3000. I also want to introduce into the market, Men's wear just from mitumba since some have been asking me constantly. It will cost me KES 5000. This will bring in more income for expansion of my business and better living. I expect to raise 20% profit since i have been raising 10%-12%.

The reason as to why am reducing my installment is because my business has dropped since it no longer generates money the way it used.Furthermore, i have had domestic problems that has been draining me. My desire is to repay the whole amount very soon.I am very grateful for your patience and i hope with this amount, i will comply.Thank you zidisha.

Hey what is happening? I just paid my first installment but it isn't featuring in the my repayment schedule. Please update it thank you. I applied for KES 9048 but only received KES 6000. I constructed a better structure for my clothes so therefore now i can sell my clothes comfortably at any season. I also added stock that i realized my market really wanted. I appreciate your loan.

    Hello Josephine,

You are welcome in Zidisha. If you want to improve your fundraising chances, you can create a profile showing you in your business. That will help lenders know what you are doing and what you want to do with the money if funded.

    Thank you.
