About Me

MAUREEN MICHELLE ADHIAMBO, OOKO

Date of Birth: 30th December.
Horoscope: Capricorn
Marital Status: Single
Social Responsibility: Caregiver to many
Hobbies: Partial to reading, music and filling code-words. I also play(ed) hockey and girl football and am still an ardent watcher of both. I am a lover of animals (but crawling), and babies make my heart skip a beat (quite literally).

I like to have money, and to spend money, and to live a decent and deserving life. I thus try to make money in as many ways as possible (legitimately so), and as long as its within the precincts of the Law.

My Business

MO Cyber

begun on my phone, quite literally, with a first loan of
KES.420., now I have a desktop, and expanded the memory on my laptop. I have a stand alone printer and scanner, but have my eyes on a milti purpose heavy duty .scanner cum printer.

information is power. that's the main reason i concentrated on mass communication and internet provision. communication is an aspect of our daily lives that i believe we will always require, and if i could capitalize on the need and start a business, then that exactly what i did. I must appreciate it was not a bad decision.

in addition to the communication, i have since incorporated magazines and reading materials. last months trending magazines will sell next month at a very subsidized cost.

Loan Proposal

There is a marked increase in the number of people - young and old - requiring internet and cyber for daily running. This scenario has made it almost certain that there will always be need for internet and there will always be good returns. I have identified a multi-tasking scanner cum printer, it goes for around KES.26000. I have my eye fixed on that, if i can afford it with your support, we are good to go.

Thanks in advance!

Income Source

The internet, and communication will always sell. Currently many businesses are sadly falling apart but as mentioned, communication will always be a requirement. The core of Mo Cyber is to assist in communication.

Apart from this, i also have a day job. Should i fail to make weekly instalments, i shall definitely make a once off on the final due date - thus the choice to pay in 4 weeks.

I am also mentoring a young person in online freelancing. We have come a long way and on bad days she helps me pay off my Zidisha loan from the proceeds of her business.

Times have been tough. I got a pay cut at my place of work, and it was supplementing my income. Now the business is running on its own, but am sure will pick up by September of 2021.

The government increased tax, while reducing the tax waiver incentive it had offered us at the workplace. My normal salary wasn't able to sustain my basic needs as well as the business. Im working on a secondary way to make ends meet while paying back my loans. sorry fr inconveniences.

Iv been thankfully able to expand my horizons quite literally. There were moments when things got bad, business was poor, but by engaging with my Lenders, i was able to proceed. As a result of the proceeds, iv been able to empower two bright children through school, and one is currently doing a side business while in college - and is a member of Zidisha. Thanks to you!

Physical and Social Distancing has reduced the influx of Clients to Mo Cyber - drastically. Hopefully things will stabilize within a month or two.

Business has been poor. Due to the social distancing, we are forced to reduce the number of clients who can access the shop at a go.

Business is nit doing well. Social distancing has made it necessary to limit the number of clients entering the shop at a go.
