About Me

My name is Mohammed Abdul-Karim.I was born in Gumbihini, a surburb of Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana, west Africa. I belong to a poor farming family of seven of which I am the first born. Because of farming,my parents moved to settle in a farming community called Krabonso located in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. This according to them, that community had abundance of fertile lands good for farming. When I was a child,I used to follow my parents to the farm to do all kinds of hard work.I was not going to school until some officers from the Regional capital (Sunyani),Ghana, came to my community to write names of those who were interested in education. My father never wanted me to go to school because of the farming but I cried ceaselessly and he registered my name.
I was enrolled in Krabonso District Assembly Primary School and continued with its Junior High School where I was made the Senior Prefect(SP).Even though I was attending school,I used to still go to the farm after closing before I would get my pocket money the next day.
Despite the fact that I went through that hard work,I still pursued my education to the next level.
We then moved back to the Northern Region of Ghana for final settlement.I continued my education as follows:
Vitting Senior High School where I offered agricultural science, then to University for Development Studies with limited specialization in environment and resource development option.During my stay in the university, things were not easy to come by as far as buying books and fees were concerned. Then, I started selling credit cards to the students and added mobile money transaction which consists of MTN mobile money,Airtel money,Tigo cash and Vodafone cash. Now Ihave a diploma in computer science through the support of zidisha loans.
In my community,we have a lot of cultural dances such as damba, baamaaya among others.Due to my hard work in my business,my first child wants to be an entrepreneur and the second one wants to be an engineer.I like reading story books and also like playing football.

My Business

The name of my business is Savannah Business Center (SBC). It is located in Tamale in the northern region of Ghana in west Africa. The center of the business is at the tamale technical university , babaga teacher training college and tamale teacher training college and new life college. The population is therefore dense there and the patronage is always high.
SBC renders the following services
1. mobile money transactions (MTN,Tigo, Vodafone and Airtel)
2.Sale of credit cards ((MTN,Tigo, Vodafone and Airtel)
3.Checking and printing of students results and workers payslips for a fee.
4.Registration and printing of Ghana National Service Personnel also for a fee.
5. Students examination online registration for a fee and DSTV and Go TV recharge for a fee.
If someone wants to withdraw or remove money from his or her mobile wallet, the person pays a commission of 1% of any amount withdrawn. This commission is charged automatically by the network providers.Depositing money into ones wallet also attracts a charge which is paid to us at the end of the month.
the registrations of the National Service is $1.06 per person per one registration.
$0.42 for checking and printing of a payslip.
$2.54 for checking and registration of exam and results.
Everyday the students ,people, workers and many others transact mobile money , print payslips ,check and register exams and results and also make calls to friends, business partners, relatives and loved ones both near and far, that makes me to earn a lot of profit and also meet customers requirements hence the need for this business.
This business helps the community members to have easy access to their
money.
The typicla cost is $3603.23

The revenue I get from this ranges from $400 to $454.18 per month.20% of the revenue is used on home improvement including paying children school fees,2% is used to support the orphanage and 50% is used to reinvest in growing the business positively and the remaining 28% would be used to repay the loan to enable me maintain my reputation in the payment for more loan to be granted to me by the zidisha lenders.
I employ a watchman who watches the shop at night against any criminal that might want to cause damage to the shop. These all become possible because of zidisha financial support in my business.I pay the security man $33.99 every month from the profit I always get from zidisha.

Loan Proposal

The loan would be utilized in buying credit cards and mobile money. $250 will be channeled through the mobile money and $300 credit cards. The community people will no longer travel to far places to do buy credit or do mobile money.I expect to increase my commissions from $60 to $70 per week.I anticipate that my profit can appreciate by a percentage rise of 10% per week. This is determined considering the capital I used before additional money would be added.
