Born and raised in Christian family, I am the second born in a family of four. I have just completed a four-year degree in Bachelor of Information Technology at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
Securing a job in our country has become very challenging due to lack of job opportunities, which has led many youths to being unemployed. I have managed to save some cash from a few services that I offer from skills I gained during my studies such as computer repair and software installations. I realized the great potential in poultry farming. I managed to rear a few chickens, which I managed to sell during the December festive period, and reaped quite well.
I have started poultry farming and thanks to Zidisha lenders I was able to earn $233 per month compared to the previous $120 monthly. The loan had such a great impact that I was able to increase the number of crates of eggs that I sell per week because I bought some extra chickens with the loan.
I now hope to increase the number of chickens in-order to meet my target of $2,330 in two years time. The increase in earnings will help me to open and run an Information Technology Institute, which was my dream idea when I enrolled for a Bachelors degree in Information Technology at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. The poultry project is such a success and in partnership with Zidisha lenders this project will not only be a succes but a dream come true.
First of all, thank you so much to the lenders for their support as through their support my life has seen great change.
When I get this loan, I will be able to buy more chickens. I will use $35 to buy feeding trouphs and more watering cans since my poultry farm is growing. I am expanding my poultry house so l will buy iron sheets for $47, nails for $12, wood for $211, mesh wire at $57 and labor for $58. I have a big order of chicken from a hotel and so I will use the rest of the dollars and my saving to assist in supplying activities.
Thanks again to the lenders for your support.
