About Me

My name is Tim Kinyua. I'm a Tour Guide based in Nairobi, Kenya.

I have a passion for wildlife, nature and the environment hence I feel most at home whilst doing my job. I'm married and have one adorable daughter who is now 4 years old.

My country, Kenya, is awesome. From a beautiful snow-capped mountain from which she gets her name (Mt. Kenya), to lovely pristine beaches, to a real desert, to a wide variety of animals and rich cultural diversity, I feel very satisfied being a guide in this awesome country.

My Business

I run a small Tour Company called Savannah Escapades ( We offer mainly safari packages where we organize all the logistics like booking the lodges offering transport and guiding services. Occasionally (on request), we organize camping tours.

My passion for nature, wildlife and the environment is my drive. I have been in the business for 4 years now so i mostly try to reinvest most of my profits right back into the business for it to keep growing.

With today's traveler being well conversant with the internet, and hotels taking their marketing to cyberspace through companies like and Tripadvisor, the traditional travel agent is finding himself in a shrinking and more competitive market.

Luckily for me, I started guiding tours and since I have a tour van (a van converted with a pop-up roof for more convenient game viewing), I'm contracted by other small companies, thus complimenting my income.

Loan Proposal

With Kenya facing another lockdown, I am hopeful that demand for guided tours within Nairobi National Park will be on the rise.

My vehicle has been parked for almost a whole year, and I hope to get Third Party Insurance for it so I can be able to be ready to restart my tours.

Annual Third party Insurance will cost me about Kes. 12,000 (approx. US$ 110) as opposed to comprehensive cover which would have cost me 4.5% of value of vehicle (approx. Kes. 800,000) = Kes.36,000 (approx. US$ 330) which is a figure I cannot afford for now.

Your assistance will enable me to fend for my family.

Income Source

I hope to be parking next to the entrance to the Park and waiting for clients.

I will also use social media to try and create awareness of my services.
