About Me

I was born and raised in a farmer's family; my father was a dairy farmer selling milk to the local individuals in Nakuru and taking surplus to the Cremeries Sacco for sale. I got educated in Kiningoi Primary School, joined Nakuru High School and later on Ergerton University for higher learning. At the University, I took Agricultural Engineering. I completed my education five years ago and managed to get a very good grade but because of the competitive nature of the Kenyan market, I have never secured a permanent job. I challenged myself to carry out a business and an idea emerged from my father's business of selling milk. I thus decided to start making yogurt and sell it to people.
I credit my business to my father. It was while helping him sell his milk that the idea of making yogurt came. My father has about 10 cows and he gets 50 to 70 liters of milk each day. He was selling a liter for as low as KSh 20. I realized I could buy milk from him, add value and sell at a better price. I floated the idea to my father and he unanimously offered to support me. That is how I started the yogurt business.

My Business

I sell yogurt in Nakuru Town. After completing school three years ago, it became hard for me to secure a white collar job; I thus decided to engage myself in starting my own business. Out of the milk that my father's cow produced, I thought of converting the milk into yogurt for sale. This product is useful because it is a source of protein and vitamins to our body. It is also in demand because, with knowledge in agriculture, I have and can make very good and unique brands of yogurts. I chose this business because of the availability of the resources that could help me make the yogurt. I recently started the business and the profits that I get mostly go into the growth of the business.
