I am 24 years old , a mother of one child and married . I went hold certificate in hair dressing and beauty.
The major problem I encountered when I was starting my business was lack of capital. I could not access bank loan due to lack of security. I had to work for a friend for a whole to make a savings of $250 that I used to start my saloon and beauty shop. I started with a small shop and later moved to a larger shop.
I come from the Bukusu community that is found in western Kenya. Most of the community members are small scale mixed farmers .
My child is six months old and I love her so much.seeing her grow day by day gives me a reason to smile each morning.
Being a mother I love children so much and always find time to visit children in the orphanages and streets every month and help then min any way possible.
I own and manage my medium size saloon that I have employed one assistant to help me with work. I am dedicated to providing the best hair dressing and beuty products to my customers . I do classic hair designs, manicure and pedicure.
The demand for my services are high because of the good services I provide. I make every client leave the saloon when satisfied. I also provide outside services to attend to my clients on the places they prefer.
I choose the business because the profit margins are good. and it earns me descent living.
My costs per month are $130 and my revenues per month are $300. In a month I make an average profit of $170-250.
I use the profits from the business to provide for my family since my husband lost his job, support my parents and reinvest in the business.
I am requesting for $150 loan to buy a music system that I would use to play music to my customers as I attend to them. I am targeting the youths who attracted by music and value entertainment in the saloons. The music system will cost $100. These would boost my customers numbers and boost my revenues too due to increased sales. Thank you in advance.
