My name is Esther Mwende. I'm 26years old. I come from a family made up of 5 children father and mother. I live in wangige in an estate called Peponi court i live by myself.
I have a business in Nairobi at a building called Kenya cinema on 4th floor i specialize in selling ladies clothes. I am degree holder in marketing from a recognized university in Kenya called Catholic University of Eastern Africa, i attained 2nd class honors-upper division.
At that time i decided to get a job so as to help me in paying my fee which was about USD 1,068.53. The job was paying me USD168.715. So there was no way i was going to be able to pay for my fees, house and rent and still feed my self.
So i decided to start a business after i looked for another alternative well paying job and i couldn't find one. I started the business in May 25th 2012 by opening a Facebook page called Online Bargains the customers have grown over the years right now the page has 2,380 likes.
i was doing deliveries when i started the page but as the clients grew i decided to open a shop since it was a bit overwhelming to deliver since there were so many orders in a day. The money i was getting helped me pay my feed, buy food, pay for the shop's rent and also my house rent.
I like to watch movies especially series because they are longer and live you in suspense and anticipation to what will come next. I also like to swim i am a very good swimmer thanks to my primary school since it had a pool in the school :)
My business is selling ladies clothes, shoes and bags. i have very many customers so i am supposed to have a lot of stock so as to cater to all my customers needs and wants and preferences.
There is demand for my goods since i am not very expensive and my clothes, shoes and bags are of very good quality and that's where i beat my competitors. it is profitable in that the price i buy the clothes is very low and i sell them at a higher price than what i bought i end up getting almost 100% profit.
The risk i face is when we overstock the clothes, shoes and bags then they move slowly. our monthly costs can be USD 337.430. We can get up to USD 1,687.15 monthly in sales profit in a month.
Hi Lenders i intend to purchase new clothes and mix them with second hand clothes that i usually sell so as to satisfy the needs and wants of more customers.
Since there are customers who prefer used clothes to new ones and others prefer new ones to old ones.
After i get the loan i will travel to Uganda to get new clothes since its cheaper to buy from there since they get them from different countries and re-sell them at a wholesale price.
With this i will be able to sell them at an affordable price which wont be expensive and with that they will sell faster and with the profits i buy more and more until ill be able to have enough stock to fit everyone's preferences and needs.
