About Me

Am Boniface a graphic designer by profession. Born and raised in Machakos county, studied my primary and secondary education in my village known as Upper Kiandani. After high school i went to college where i studied graphic design. After college i thought that life will be easy, i got a job security personnel (gate man) with an employer who was cruel to me.

I resigned the job and started hawking items in the ghetto areas of Nairobi (Korogocho, mathare slums, Kibera). At times i worked all day and raise good money but , on my way out of the slums, ghetto gangs would attack me and steal all what i have sold. I never gave up in life, but rather i looked for an alternative way to survive. It was in 2014, when i thought as i slept and i decided that i can make money out of my career. I started visiting offices and giving them my profiles and portfolios.

It was hard for people to trust that i can deliver their work on time. I struggled since i had no office, no machines to print but i had a laptop where i made all the artworks. I outsourced all the work and got very little amounts as profits. Am now married with one beautiful princess in class 4. She made me proud as she was the number one in last term. I would like her to study hard, go to the university and achieve her dream of becoming an aeronautical engineer. I always liked to design and working with computer, something that gave me sleepless nights when i was in college.

My Business

I have a printing business providing graphic design services and website design services. The link to my website is www.bormangraphics.co.ke
I currently saw a niche and am grabbing it in the making and printing of exercise school book covers. I have approached several learning insitutions having samples in my hand and they have found them very impressive. This will be my main business in 2018.

I am passionate about computers and that is why i choose a business that involves computers. Money generated by the business is used in paying off school fees for my child, taking care of my family and construction of a house, supporting the disabled and the needy in the community. When the business grows, I would like to sponsor 10 youths to study graphic design for free or website design.

In this regard, i am using a concept that will improve the lifes of youths in my community where, i train 10 people for free, and in return they also train others, at the end of the year, we will have created employment to more than 50 youths and through it, we will have helped our community.

Loan Proposal

In my previous loan, I delayed in making my payments on the set dates of the week,
which lowered my credit score percentage and this was due to
the loss that i suffered after my business was looted
due to the political insanity that was experienced in our country Kenya.

Since then, i have been living hand to mouth which caused the delay but i promised myself that i must make the payments before the last day and I have done it.
From the experience I got, I am relocating my business to an environment that has never had political chaos since the birth of our country.

Am also planning to diversify so that even in worst times I will never lack money to repay back my loan on time. In this loan, am planning to start a green grocery so that all businesses will be running. Also, this loan will boost my business by purchasing a new printer that was stolen. In support of the youths of this country, a green grocery will create employment to 2 youths. One of them will be going to the market to purchase the items while the other one will be serving the customers.
Am planning to create employment to atleast 10 youths before the end of this year 2018.

Below is a breakdown of the items to purchase.

1 color laser printer HP Office Jet Pro 7740 at a price of 150 USD (15, 000 KES)
Green grocery stock (Apples, Mangoes, Pineapples, Bananas and other fresh fruits) 80 USD (8,000 KES)
A blender for making fresh vegetable juice at a cost of 25 USD (2500 KES)
Dispossable cups at a cost of 10 USD (1000 KES)
Stationery (printing papers, toner, blank CDs & DVDs, among others) 15 USD (1,500 KES)
