My name is Sarah Bundotich, a kipsivis lady born and raised in a place in Kenya called Naivasha. I schooled at Kilimani Day Primary school in Naivasha before joining Gilgil girls high school. I finshed secondary school, manged to pass well with a grade that could take me to college but for the past three years i have never realized my dreams because of financial constraints.
I was brought up by my Aunty when both parents succumbed to a fatal road accident when i was in class four. So all along my Aunt has been supporting me with my education. She also has four kids together with me we are five and this is becoming quite a very hard task for her.
After completing school, i was employed at an Mpesa shop to help transcact money services that is deposition and withdrawal of cash, i did that business for 1 and a half years. With the help of my Aunt and the and the savings that i made, we managed to start our own Mpesa business.
I don't have children at the moment because i am still young, i wish to pursue higher education and i believe that this is the year. With the help of my business, my Aunt and also loan from team zidisha i see myself going to school.
I own an Mpesa outlet where i do money transactions. This involves deposition and withdrawal of money using mobile phones. I also sale scratch cards for airtime.
This service are very useful because now with advancement in Technology nearly everbody in Kenya sends and receive money through the use of mobile phones. This makes my business quite useful and also on great demand. I chose this business because after working for someone for that long, i realized the importance of this service, i was therefore challenged to start my own business because the profit margin that i witnessed while working for her was good to sustain myself and also see me through my education.
I have been using the profits that i get by reinvesting back into the business, save for my school fees and also support my Aunt who has been my caretaker all through my life.
I will use these loan of 29 us dollars to invest into the Newspaper business. I need to have a total of 80 us dollars to get these business running, and with these loan, i will add a total of 51 us dollars from the savings that i have been keeping in addition to the loan and purchase the newspapers for sale.
i will benefit from the newspapers because it will help me increase my profits. I expect the profits from the newspapers to increase by 15 us dollars a day
