My name id David Kibet Mengich born and raised in a rural setup in Baringo County.
While growing up, life was challenging since parents were in informal sector. to try and overcome lack of fees, clothes and basic needs i kept a few local chicken. and that is how i started selling eggs in the evening market after school.
my home area is an arid with erratic rainfall. its good though for farming; poultry for me is a passion.
i have four children, eldest being in standard five. she wants to be a teacher in future. the rest two want to be a pilot and doctor respectively. to secure their dreams, i have to expand my business to a economically viable level.
i love cooking, trying out new recipes
with My business, i provide eggs, meat mature and consultancy to other farmers and interested parties.
The products above are important for food security, nutrition and knowledge. Most youth are jobless and hence in seeking to be self reliant and independent, the need of these services arises.
I choose this kind of business because its flexible and predictable. when all other adverse factors kept constant.
the major cost associated with this business are cost of acquiring chicks, feeds and medications. Veterinary fees also become constant.
my revenue comes from selling of eggs, cocks for meat or rearing. sell of manure and consultancy and training fees.
most of the time i use profit for school fees, better feeds for family and aslo save. i intend to improve housing for the chicken too.
i intend to buy ink supplies and photo papers
benefit would include happy clients and for more quality service
and buy a good printer later when i qualify for more credit.
