I come from Busia County in Western Kenya region. At the moment I work in a training college in Nairobi and in charge of the South Sudan student training programme with an aim of equipping them with necessary required knowledge and skills so that they can be deployed back to South Sudan to transform their society after decades of civil war. I am passionate in helping other people so that they can realize their potential hence transforming the society.
I own a photocopying services business besides my other job. Since I work in a college there is high demand of photocopy services due to high number of students and other institution in the area. It also helps students not travel far to do photocopying. I chose this business because it is easy to manage, control and cost effective. I am using a hired photocopier. I spend less than Ksh, 25, 000/= in rent, hiring the machine, servicing the machine and purchase of photocopying papers per month. The profits I get helps me pay school fees for children and to reinvestment in the same business. I am also saving to buy a new machine.
I want to invest in the same business and save the money to buy new equipment - a new photocopy machine US$550/=, a computer US$400/=, a printer US$300/=. office and school used stationery materials US$600/=
This will expand the business to include stationary supplies to institutions and companieS, typing, printing and binding services.
The business will serve and save the residents in the poor Nairobi Eastlands travelling long distances to seek for such services. This will increase my income profit to US$300/= per month.
