About Me

I am the fourth born in a family of five ,both my parents were teachers . They are bought retired now. We are three children in our family,we grew up as a good family and we always cared and loved one another. I went to butere primary school and proceeded to kisumu girls where I sat for my KCSE.After completing my secondary education,my parents were overburdened with my siblings fees and so there was no money to take me to college.I joined our village self help group where I learnt alot about farming,I started admiring farmers, and soon acquired a loan of $50 from the group to start my own farm. I planted vegetables not for commercial but just as a hobby but was amazed by the number of customers who visted my farm. I talked to my parents to give 1/2 an acre peace of land and started commercial farming. I have since expand my farm to one and half acre with an acre under sun floor and the rest under assorted vegetables.
we have traditional dances and culture ,in my land. The most unique culture is during planting pouring alcohol and cooked food on the land during planting to appease gods.
I am yet to get married but planning to get married and have kids in future.
I love reading novels, traveling and eating during my free time.

My Business

I grow assorted high value horticulture in my farm. The bigger portion is under sun flower and the rest is under cabbages, kale's and tomatoes. I sell my sunflower to milling company and vegetables to my local markets.
The demand for these goods are high and the supply is low.I am planning to expand my farm to get maximum returns from my investments.
I choose farming business because it was the most profitable venture .I could also easily juggle farming and education.
I spend $120 on average as production cost per month and my revenues are $300 per month.
I use my profits to save for my degree and support my siblings.

Loan Proposal

Dear lenders ,I am happy to join zidisha family.I am requesting for loan to help me buy black polythene that I would use to dry my sunflower before selling . The black polythene will be 20m square and will cost me $90. It will save me the cost of hiring one always at $2 per day. These will reduce my costs of production and increase my revenues.Thank you in advance.
