Am job wafula aged 30years of age born in a family of six i live in western part of the country, but currently am in nairobi.i did my o-level and later persued for a diploma in automotive but after looking for job i found out that due competion and scarcity of jobs i decided to venture into poultry farming and that was my first try so decided to do the indigenous type due to high demand and also they are also resistant to diseases
I started my poultry business after my college studies due to lower rate of unemployment and flooding in the course that i had undertaken a friend of mine who by then was working with technoserve urged me into project .
So with the little money i had saved i decide to purchase the chicks that were going at ksh100 each that was in the year 2012, I had also added the native that were being hatched.
challenges
In a span of one to two months i had lost twenty chicks because it was the first time to handle such projec t of which it requred alot of care and attention and alot of time.
After knowing how to handle i manage to raise fifty of them with supply of feeds they grew very fast within three months they had matured and ready for the market\
market
I sold my first batch locally since people around wanted the breed since it was a crossbreed of indegnious and exotic.
The reason for proposing for a loan is that i wanted to purchase a machine to produce the feeds locally to curb less supply of feeds and also reduce the cost of transport.
buy a machine that will produce feeds for the chicks, and produce the feeds and sell the feeds locally
I will also increase employment to others since i cant be able to handle alone it will also enable me to attend workshops and seminars on how to handle the chicks, another important aspect in this field is the coprate affair that is giving back to the community it will help me to senstize the youths on how to view life a gift not a waste
I also look foward recruit many young men and women into the business
