About Me

My name is Christine Musokwa a Zambia business lady. I live in Lusaka the capital city of Zambia in Chiboya compound to be specific. Iam Tonga by tribe in our native language but our official language is English. I went to Kanyama central basic where I did my primary and moved to Kabulonga girls were I completed my grade and obtained school certificate upon completion.
I went to NRDC, the school of natural resources and development studies and I graduated with a Diploma in food and nutrition studies and went to Nipa, as school public administration to study a certificate in accounts.
Therefore, I got a job with Zambia seed company limited where am working as quality control manager. While working at Seed company, I decided to venture in business to start earning extra income so as to help my family and children live a comfortable life and able to afford their school bills.
I love adventure at my own free time, I watching football and also reading novels and poetry. I wish my children to go to the University of Zambia and become professors and medical doctors.

My Business

Iam involved in raring birds such broiler chickens, layers, quails and village chickens. These birds are highly consumable in communities, restaurants, supermarkets and hotels. Today broiler chickens have become number one highly consumable in takeaways and restaurant in general. They sell very fast and I make a lot money, currently I have 3000 broiler chickens which costed me ZMW 50.00 per chick which cost me ZMW 150,000 and the selling price per broiler bird is ZMW 120.00 of which I will able to make ZMK 360,000 and net profit will be ZMW 210,000.00. Therefore my profit is 100% plus. In addition to other birds like the quails, layers and the village.
The profits made I plan to build my family a 4 bedroom house and a bigger chicken ran or poultry house which will be able to take in 5000 to 7000 chicks at goal as this will bring me revenue and improve the living standard of my family and invest more in future and impact my community with development skills.

Project Proposal

With these funds I would like to reinvest in my poultry business by buying 250 chicks for raring both broilers and layers. I also need to buy stocks feeds and the drinkers for the chickens. Having that done of course my chicken will grow healthy for sell and make good profits. In addition I will be able to generate and increase my profit to 7500.00 ZMW
