My name is Mary Nalukui. I am a farmer living in Kabwe rural. I am married to Peter, who is also a farmer. We have three children.
We produce maize, potatoes and soya beans at the farm.
I have cultivated a large portion of land to plant groundnuts. I plan to sell the groundnuts to a local nutrition agency operating in the area.
The agency buys the groundnuts and produces baby porridge and other food supplements which are distributed to vulnerable children.
My plan is to use the loan to purchase groundnuts seeds which I plan to plant on a 5 acre plot which I have prepared.
The groundnuts are the second batch which I will plant this year. I plan to sell the groundnuts to a local company which makes baby porridge and peanut butter.
I have already secured the contract to sell my groundnuts to a local groundnut company and this will make it possible for me to repay my loan.
