About Me

Seth Afari-Boateng is my name. I am 22years of age. A recent graduate of the Presbyterian University College in Abetifi,Ghana. I studied Bsc. Mathematics with Statistics.

The town i had my university education that is Abetifi is sorrounded with over 13 small villages with population close to 50 for each.

Whiles in school, i had the opportunity to visit most of these villages by forms of outreach programmes to teach and impact the young ones the importance of Mathematics in education and life as a whole.

My Business

Upon my visit, i realised the main occupation of people there are farming and livestock. And even with that its very difficult for thier produce to be bought since road networks to the villages are very poor and bad in condition. This has then made their produce lie waste and rot after harvest. Their livestock also tend to grow old and later they consume it themselves.
I then made it a promise to help them sell thier produce and livestock whiles in school buy gathering money from friends and going to these villages with a small truck to buy and convey the livestock and produce back to the town markets for sale.

I first gathered 150cedis = $45 from friends.

I rented the truck for 50cedis=$15 for a day, bought livestock and farm produce with the extra 100cedis=$30 from them.

I later brought the goods to the town market and sold all and made a profit of 50cedis=$15 from the sale.
I repayed all the monies to took from friends and had about 20cedis=$6.3 for myself

This brought many smiles and happiness to their lives because the money the recieved made them enroll their children school and also have some money on them for upkeep of their farms and homes.

I then continued this activity once or twice every month depending on my schedule in school. I sometimes breaked even with me benefiting nothing but i was so excited anytime i get to the villages and see them with smiles of me coming to give them hope.

Loan Proposal

Thanks once more for helping out with my previous loan. The number of farmers have increased in the vicinity hence making the request for an additional water pump vital to help quicken their farming activities.

Also December to February is a dry season in Ghana which dries up most water bodies, This second water pump would help benefit all the farmers in the vicinity and also be hired to other farmers in the neighboring communities for a fee.

Water irrigation was one persistent problem in this village until with the help of my second loan was used to purchase a pump for them. They have now started to grow major vegetables that sell quick in the town market but with the dry season approaching, the need for an additional pump to enable the farmers work efficiently.

I intend to use this loan to get the farmers a water pump which costs $240 = 900GH. With the help of this loan of $330 = 1270GH($149 = 570GH after deductions) I would top up extra $85 = 325GH to purchase a mid-end high quality water pump that would be used to pump water from a nearby river along the farms to the farms to enable the vegetables yield fast enough for them to harvest their crops.

This water pump would be used by 10 farmers in the vicinity and also for hire to neighboring farmers for a fee. This would enhance the farming and also decrease man-power labor used for farming.

They would then pay back by using profits yielded from their weekly sales at the town market and also income gained from the hire.

Please help fund this loan and keep the dreams of these farmers to be an existing one forever in their lives.

Dear Lenders, I am back in Ghana and planning on paying a visit to the community in the coming month. I do keep contact with them and they inform me things are a bit slow at their end due to the heavy rainy season now but are very hopeful for high yield after the season. Would keep you updated and would post pictures when I am also there.

    Many thanks and regards,
    Seth

Hi Laurie, thank you so much for your comment and it's well noted. I had difficulty getting the full community of famers for a picture when I was applying for the load at that moment. Will do well to use a photo of myself for the next loan proposal.

Thanks again and all the best Laurie.

Hello Lenders, I have been quite busy from the beginning of this year with work and travelling as well.

I would try my best to pay a visit to the farmers to provide you with a much more comprehensive update.

I do follow up with them for payments and eventhough it delays sometimes I try my best to ensure they make the payments.

Thank you once again for your support.

    Hello Lenders,

I hope you are all doing well. It's been a while I send an update on the progress of the loan. I have been out of my country for some months on an educational tour to South Africa. I have arrived and currently checked with the people benefiting from this loan and they are trying their best to ensure things go well. They had a slight problem with their produce but things have resumed now and they are committed to finishing making payment of the loan before the year comes to an end.

They continue to thank all lenders for changing their lives and for their continued support in lifting their livelihoods. Thank you!

The truck we purchased got faulty and has to be repaired. It's been repaired now and some money has been used in repairing it hence reducing our repayment will help us regain some money and also help the truck work effectively withing the community.

Hello Lenders, there has been a delay in payment because of the breakdown of the moto-truck. It has developed a fault within its fuel pump and it's been fixed. The mechanic is really working hard to get things resolved and soon payment will be back normally.

Thank you all and have a great week.

Hello Lenders, the mobile phone that is used in making payments to the platform has been stolen which has resulted with the defaultment please. I am currently in the process of acquiring a new device and also getting the SIM card replaced so I make the payments as soon as possible.

This has decreased our repayment rate but I do assure you that this disaster will not affect our repayment at all.

Thank you all Lenders and have a great time.

Hi Lenders, the project is going on smoothly and the farmers have really benefited from having their own vehicle to transport their produce for sale at the town market.

I will be visiting them very soon to have a fair idea on how their lives have been improved soon.

Thank you so much for this opportunity to change the lives of many.

    Hi Lenders,

It is with great pleasure and acknowledgement i give to you from all the inhabitants of the village that have received great help from the loan you help change their lives.

The pump has really benefited them at this current situation where temperature is really high and rain is also not that common in this times also.

The machine has really given them high yields of crops and vegetables such as cassava, tomatoes, pepper, cabbage and etc.

I have not been able to visit the villages recently due to my tight work schedule but i am in touch with them and as you can see, the loan is repaid on-time too.

Thanks so much once again Lenders for changing the lives and giving many people in these villages an enlightenment in their lives.

    Hello lenders,

I am very grateful in the support you've shown to many by funding my loan proposal.

I have received the money i.e 770 GHS = $ 202. I am going to top up this amount and buy the pump which would enhance farming activities this harmattan (dry) season.

Thanks once again and i know this would be another successful journey.

    Hello lenders,

Once again my people are very much happy with the support they've received from you. The pump they say has made things very easy for them to water their farm produce. They report great and significant growth of their crops and some have started in planning on going large scale.

I'm almost done repaying this loan and rely on your support for funding my next loan.

    Thank you so much lenders.
