About Me

I am Calvince Otieno Odhiambo born in 11/08/1989 in Rongo Kamagambo south Migori county.I am the first born in a family of three children, two boys and a girl.I went to Tonye primary school and did my kcpe examination in 2007 and later went to Nyachenge secondary school where I drop out of school due to lack of school fees.My mother died in 2003 and my father was suffering from stroke,he couldn't pay school fees and life was not bearable. In September 2011,I went to Uriri youth polytechnic where I did carpentry and joinery and completed my course in December 2013. I went to Bondo town to search for jobs, i got series of jobs earn a living and i am working until to date.I got married in january 2015 and Mighty God blessed me with a baby girl. She is still very young and cannot make her future decision on her carrier. In our Rongo,we usually receive adequate rainfall which is good for farming, cattle keeping, business and we also experience cool breeze from Kisii highlands.During my free time, I like reading bible, magazines, watching football premier leagues of various countries .

My Business

In carpentry and joinery, I mostly get some joinery contracts like fittings, roofs construction form works, repairs of various building structures. With this, it helps me earn a living, support my work, cater for family needs. After completion of most jobs,I remain with some money which really help me to purchase food for the family, buy clothes, pay school fees for my brother and sister who are still going to school, cater for transport to and from work sites, pay also other bills. During general election in Kenya, our place of work was attacked by rowdy youths supporting NASA party because we were working while others were demonstrating against the government and most of our tools, materials and other equipment were destroyed and others stolen and we had to seek refuge in Bondo police station. The disbursed loans really helped me purchased Jack plane, sash cramp, tenon saw, marking line and some packets of coloured chalks for making marks. This aided work, made it easier and better than before. Thank you for the financial support you have made in to my family and I would like to invite other fellow fundis. Thanks Zidisha team.

Zidisha :Wonderful lending platform unlike some stressfull financial institutions in Kenya which requires some good deposit. Thanks for the financial support you offered in time of need. It makes me feel better than before joining this platform. The last disbursed loan help me to purchase some tools and payment of school fee for third term. I bought Jack plane for smothening timber surfaces at a cost of KES 3500/=,sash cramp for holding work pieces at a cost of KES 2500/=,tenon saw for cutting timber especially joints at a cost of KES 500/= and I also paid school fees for my brother in secondary school form two at a cost of KES 5000/= for the ending term before closure of schools. This loan really relieved me financially and reduced stress of school fee, food, fitting and joinery equipment and eventually made my work easier than before as most tools were stolen. Thank you so much for the Zidisha loan disbursed. It increased income by approximately 40% as there were sufficient fitting and joinery jobs in Bondo town despite effect of elections in the country.
