About Me

My name is Catherine Wanjiru a Female Kenyan born in 1971 in Muranga county. I am married to Mr Charles Ngatia and have three children. Two have completed college education. I have in the past worked in the hotel industry; my last employment being at Pasonic Hotel in Nairobi. I now reside in Kahawa Wendani Estate in Ruiru constituency near Kenyatta university. I do business in the same Estate where I operate a salon and have recently opened a tailoring shop. I also do small scale farming in Nyeri.

My Business

I operate a salon as well as a tailoring shop in Kahawa Wendani Estate located in Kahawa wendani Junior Street trading by the name Mijafe Enterprises. I specialize in hair styling, facial, manicure, pedicure among other beauty services, selling garments as well as making ladies outfits. Kahawa is highly populated as it serves as residential for most soldiers from Kahawa Garrison and their families as well as students from the famous Kenyatta University (popularly known as KU) and other working class who commute to Nairobi city every morning thus there is wide and potential market for my services. I have created a good working relationship in the neighborhood hence acquiring loyal customers. I have one qualified professional hair dresser and one tailor . I also ensure that once I get new customers ,they get the best quality of service so that they can always come back and refer us to their friends. This way, the business has increased its profits month by month. The business average monthly profits stands at Ksh 60,000 (US Dollars600) . I am looking forward to increase the profitability. My vision is to be a major beauty and fashion center serving Kahawa Wendani, Ruiru and KM market. I intend to use the loan to finance the expansion of the business towards this goal.

Loan Proposal

Dear lenders, I am borrowing Us Dollars 150 to assist me purchase a new drier which costs approximately Us Dollar 208( ksh 18000). Most of Hair treatment procedures must pass through a drier and therefore acquisation of this asset will be a great boost to my business. This will cater for the increased number of customers in my salon. The number have lately increased due to double intake of Kenyatta university which neighbours Kahawa Wendani. Thank you.
