About Me

I am the first born of Mr. Appiah Dauda and Madam Cecilia Boadu. I have two siblings, a girl and a boy. Life was tough for my family when my father joined his ancestors before I attained age eight. My mother who I affectionately call 'Yaa Asantewaa' (a brave woman in the Ashanti kingdom who led the Ashantis into wars in centuries back) passed through a lot of suffering and perseverance to see me through my education from primary school up to the college level. Despite these challenges, I studied hard to pass all my examinations once and not to let my mother suffer in vain and also take the mantle of sponsoring the family from her.
Currently, I am married with a son and now the backbone of my family.

My Business

The name of my business is Adoma Printing Business Centre. It is located about 2 kilometres away from the southern part of the Zebilla central market. I offer typing, printing and photocopying to the neighbourhood and other customers around. This business is high in demand because schools type, print and photocopy examination questions for their pupils whereas individuals come in to get their various documents typed and printed.
From the profit gotten, that is what earns my family a living. I take care of my family's needs from the income that is generated from the business. I pay for rent, water and food. I am in Valley View University now offering Bachelor of Education in Information Technology on a sandwich programme (during vocations). About 50% of the profit is always reinvested to boost the income level of the business.

Loan Proposal

I will purchase a photocopier machine to enable me undertake mass production to increase my work output at a faster rate. The type of photocopier to be purchased is Canon IR3025N (home use/slightly used) at a cost of $550.00.
Currently, I have only one secretary at my business center. The purchase of the photocopier machine will create another employment opportunity for someone because mass production goes with high labor. It will also generate income to support my university education as well as family members. I expect my profit to increase from $85 daily average sale to $120.00 daily average sale.

"If you believe in others and give them a positive reputation to uphold, you can help them to become better than they think they are. "
Just saying thank you my lenders will never repay your kindness to me and if the world had more people like you it would be a better place. You do make a difference. My lenders through Zidisha have made a difference in my life. I can now pay my bills and afford the three square meals for my family through the expansion of my business. Once again, thank you my lenders and the Zidisha Community.

I have heavily benefited from the initial loan taken. I bought a lamination machine and lamination films with it. The purchase made a significant difference to my business because formerly I used to make an average daily sale of 60 US dollars but with the addition of the lamination machine and its films, the average daily sale shot to 85 US dollars. With the increased earnings, I have used 60% of it to reinvest into the business while the remaining 40% has been used to cater for my family e.g. payment of school fees, purchasing of books, etc.
At first, schools within my circuit (a cluster of schools forming a unit) normally type and print their schools' examination questions wherever they wished but now I have been able to convince them to see the need to organize a common examination for the schools. This idea was unanimously agreed in a circuit meeting organized on Thursday 6Th October, 2016. A committee was set to take charge of which I am a member and the chairperson as well. My business center has been chosen to see to the general production of the common examinations papers.
The above achievements could not be made possible without the assistance of my Lenders and the Zidisha Team. Thank you and God bless you.

Business has been great of recent due to the fact that students visit my internet cafe to check and print their Basic Education Certificate Examination results online. This has generated a lot of income for my business and also maximized my profit. After checking and printing of their results, they also let me laminate them using the lamination machine I bought with the loan assistance. Thank you.

I would like to reduce my loan to GHS6.00 temporarily because I have spent a lot of money on my siblings' school fees since it is the beginning of an academic year. Not withstanding that the loan has helped me to expand my business. I promise to adjust my loan installment back to its original state soonest as I recover. Thank you.

Thank you, Madam Theresa Amoah, for your inquiry. Please, taking a loan from Zidisha for the first time (specifically above the minimum amount) requires that you pay a non-refundable membership registration fee. Also, you will be made to deposit certain amount (to be determined by the system) as a membership fund which will be used in paying back the loan should there be any default in certain circumstances. Based on the amount you requested, it meant that you had only 84 GHS left to be received after the above deductions. Meanwhile, you will need to repay the total amount applied for (i. e. amount received + membership registration fee + member's fund).
Please note that the above deductions are done once and for the first time but any other loans to be accessed later on will not attract any deductions which means you will receive all the amount you request.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you need further explanations on any issues.
      Thank you.

Today is Zebilla market day. The town's market days come every three days. I am currently in Valley View University-Techiman Campus in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana and per the report I received from my sales person, I made a sale of $15.34 from lamination of documents today only. Thanks to my lender and the Zidisha community.

I will use the loan to buy a lamination machine at the cost of $38 and also buy a lamination film at the cost of $9.40.
It will help me to now laminate people's documents (especially birth certificates, school certificates, etc) and thereby generating more money to boost my business and my family's standard of living.
I therefore thank my lender (Paul Buchheit) very much and wish that God will continue to bless him abundantly so he can continue to assist the needy. This is a society I sincerely owe my life to. Thank you.
