About Me

My name is Kelvin Chirwa a young entrepreneur i own an online boutique business, i sell men, ladies clothes, shoes ,Handbags and Computer accessories. I have recently bought two dairy cows. I completed my high school grade in 2004 with good grades. I didnt managed to go to college due to my financial dificuties but i managed to find a part work in shop and raise capital to start my online boutique which is doing well now. Currently, i own a piece of land 45 km in eastern part of Lusaka. I was inspired by the people who live there because they truly dependant on farming and livestock rearing. I partly invested my money by purchasing two dairy cows for business. my hobbies have changed in that i spent my past time at this small farm i have acquired and read books on dairy farming.

My Business

Currently i want to boost my dairy business. I do sale milk from the cows to Palabana Milk cooperative. According to the Dairy Association of Zambia, Currently Zambia imports milk to fill a deficit estimated at more than 50 million litres per year. Domestic demand has been increasing at a higher rate, and is currently estimated to stand at 445 million litres per year. (Source: africanfarming.com). Therefore the demand of milk is high in that companies such as Parmalat, Zambeef etc are the mainly buyers of produce.
I choose this business because i have development a passion for the dairy business and i could like to contribute to the nation production of milk and bridge the gap of the deficit in the industry. The profits from this venture will be channelled to the reinvestment of the small holding which i have and help to pay for other expenses.

Loan Proposal

The loan is an add up to what I have to purchase feed and silage for my dairy cows. Good feeding program for the cows increase milk production. If I increase milk production I will also increase revenue because demand for the milk is high.
