About Me

My name is David W. Irungu a male Kenyan born in 1990 in Laikipia county. I am a single hardworking gentleman holding a higher Diploma in Graphic Design and Animation from Shang Tao Media Arts College, who is lucky to have started business as early as 19 years old and I have never looked back, and I did my studies while still in business. I am glad I have both parents and siblings all in good health. I am a business oriented person who has put efforts in the following fields like in general printing,Photography,Video coverage and editing,Phone and computer accessories, among others. My business is growing day by day and I make atleast USD590 every month, and add on stock to improve more and more.I am a diehard fun of football and I enjoy swimming as well every weekend. I am a long time area resident of Kahawa Wendani near Kenyatta University in Nairobi County, but my actual home town is Nyahururu. I am also a farmer back at home in Nyahururu, I have a green house where I grow tomatoes, pepper, cucumber and strawberry.

My Business

I have a shop at Kahawa Wendani Estate opposite Maguna’s Hyper Supermarket next to Kahawa Wendani stage, the shop registered name is Explod Investments where I specialize in Photography, bulk printing, video shooting and editing computer repair and maintenance. Kahawa is highly populated as it serves as residential for most soldiers from Kahawa Garrison and their families as well as students from Kenyatta University our neighbours, and other working class who commute to Nairobi city every morning thus there is wide and potential market for my services mainly to the students and the schools around. I have created good reputation in the neighborhood who have become my loyal customers over the years. I have two workers one professional IT personnel and the other a qualified graphic and design personnel. I ensure that once I get new customers they get the best quality service so that they can always come back and refer us to their friends. This way the business has increased its profits more and more. The business average monthly profits stand at ksh 50,000 (US Dollars590) and I am looking forward to increase the profitability. My vision is to be a major sort out I.T personnel at Kahawa Wendani, Kahawa Sukari,Githurai, Ruiru and KM market. I intend to use the loan to finance the expansion of the business towards this goal.

Loan Proposal

If I get the loan I will use it to purchase a desktop computer for one of my workers, we agreed to buy a desktop than a laptop because that is what she is more comfortable with while typing. This computer will greatly help me deliver bulk typing on time which is very common at my work place. During this period the computer is very important because the Kenyatta University students are back from their long holiday, and there is an intake at the same time. We had earlier met and agreed on the same with my workers on the first Sunday of the month as we always meet to discuss how to improve the business, and solutions to our hardships, the computer issue was the very important one which was to be urgently addressed, we decided if Zidisha lends us enough money to buy a desktop this would greatly help and improve our work in a great way.I had in the last 3 weeks published a loan of ksh 12,000 that is around 142.747USD which was never fully funded this time looks like things have changed because I can only apply for ksh8,650 that’s around 101.764USD which I am planning to top up and buy a desktop computer which will greatly help me deliver my typings on time, like at the moment I have around sixty pages pending due to the shortage in computers at my work place that’s around Ksh2400 which can easily be earned in one day, because a page is paid at Ksh 40 around 0.470USD per page and in one day I atleast get 15-20 pages which are very common so paying back the loan will not be an issue. I am looking forward for a positive response from the entire Zidisha community to help me achieve my goals.
